Umm. To clear my head, I decided to do everything.

That is, the 101 goals in 1001 days -challenge

AND I have a blog to keep up with my goals, please do flock there to see how I’m doing. I sure need some company! ^ – ^

The 101/1001 Blog

Because of my semi-psychotic relationship status (2 girlfriends, one living with me, another living in Helsinki) and to increase my chances, I’ve decided to apply to three different universities.

1) Tampere: obviously, I still live here with C.
2) Jyväskylä: C has a place in the university of Jyväskylä (she’s majoring in Art History) waiting for her if she decides to return. She probably will, and I’d love to live with her there. Lower rent and all..
3) Helsinki: the newest option. Living this far away from M isn’t always that easy and certainly isn’t fun. Although I know that we will last even if she would live on the other side of the world (and she probably will someday, because of her studies/career), it would be so brilliant to live and study in the same city. I’m slightly worried about living alone (she has a flatmate already and wouldn’t dare to live with me, I love her but we would drive each other nuts), and about how I could survive the absurdly high studio costs of Helsinki, but..

But, my main goal is still to study journalism. All of the three universities have it as a major subject, but of course the emphasis is slightly different in all of them. Naturally, the minor subjects will also be very different. I already have the English Translation (my former major) in my pocket, luckily, but..

In Jyväskylä, I would probably study Intercultural Studies & Social Science as my minors,
in Tampere probably Ethnology & North American Studies
and in Helsinki most likely Political History & Social/Cultural Anthropology

yeah, very different emphasis on each one of them. My plans will probably change and shift many times before the entrance exams (Helsinki & Jyväskylä/Tampere both in June), and most likely even after them.

We’ll see..

It looks like journalism could be my err, path? My educational weapon of choice?

Anyway. I live in Tampere with C right now. I found out that the entrance exams for Tampere’s and Jyväskylä’s universities’ journalism are the same. I will probably apply to both.

That means we could very well be moving to Jyväskylä next autumn, as C has a reserved place in university (art history). Scary, somewhat, but I really feel like being a journalist could be “my thing”. I’m passionate enough, at least.. :P

i’ve been thinking alot about this recently, my life is coming to a big crossroad (maybe worse than that- a massive roundabout with loads of turn offs i think :-S) and i think it’s time that i decided to grow up :)

i’m 21, failed college student that has just broken up with my boyfriend and is doing temp work in various offices because i don’t know what i would really like to do.

i feel like i never reach my potential in my day to day life and it’s kind of depressing. i have been thinking about leaving to travel for a bit again (i have been away a few times and just come back home to work lame jobs to make more money) and maybe i will go to university to study special effects development.

i have always wanted to do something a bit more artistic but i am so lazy and unmotivated! i have been looking into it anyway and have gotten loads of info off the net and hopefully i can go to an open day at the uni and everything will be right! :)

i feel a bit excited :-D it feels good to start a new venture!
