Signed up 8 months ago

I signed up for a class in town on Wednesday morning 10 AM! It’s only 90 minutes and I get my card the same day. It’s run from a woman’s living room!

Yikes 15 months ago

Watched a car-motorcycle collision happen at work today- scary stuff. Luckily the people involved were able to walk away (relatively) unhurt; still got me thinking about getting this goal accomplished sooner rather than later, because you never know.

A valuable thing to know... 15 months ago

...and I actually had to use it once (!!!)

I’ve heard that the guidelines have changed, so I’d like to take a weekend class again to get up to speed.

It's nerve-wracking. 2 years ago

I still remember everything I need to do; but until you have to do it – you are not prepared to do so. Getting a little piece of paper seems so useless now. I don’t ever want to have to fight for someone’s life again. I will if I have to; but I’m not going to worry about permissions or whatever. If I save you’re life (or try); and you or your family wants to sue me over it – then so be it.

NO not again!!! 2 years ago

Okay so I need to get recertified, becuase I am lifeguard, but right now im in the middle of buying a prom dress, a mp3 player and I just recently purchased a 250 dollar fast skin for the Regionals Swim meet. Plus the instructor is totally trying to make me pay more than he said (last year, when I got my certifaction) I would have to. Also this instructor is not one of my most favorite people in the world, but I guess you have to do what you have to do.

It is a good thing to know if your family or friends need help, but I wouldnt touch a stranger even if they were going to die in the street.
Sounds harsh but Iam not going to risk getting some disease.

Yeah, yeah, yeah 3 years ago

See? There’s that Jawa-Time again. 12 weeks later and still nothing. No, wait…

...calling…

...Okay.

Called and spoke to Katie (Katherine Pevatt?). In St. Augustine, the Red Cross offers monthly classes in CPR on the 1st Saturday of every Month. It’s on US1 South, across from the Nissan dealership. The next Class is August 5th and lasts from 8:30 until it’s done (about 3:30 she said). The class costs $48.00.
My finances are tied up today (don’t ask) so I told her I’d call back tomorrow (and not 12 weeks from now nyuk-nyuk) and register for the class.

See, Jawa time is different than your time 3 years ago

For a Jawa, saying you’re going to do something tomorrow, means you’re going to do it in 12 weeks. I called the contact number I posted “yesterday” (heh), but they weren’t in.

I left a message with my name and number and what I wanted. Hopefully, I’ll hear back “in an hour or two.”

I'm Going to Do This... 3 years ago

Apparently, they teach Jawas how to do this here:

Katherine Prevatt, Service Center Manager
American Red Cross
2730 US 1 South, Suite L
St. Augustine, Florida 32086
Main – (904) 797-3851
Fax – (904) 794-4841

But they’re closed right now, so I can’t ask them when the next class is. I Must call these people tomorrow and find out when I can take the Adult CPR/AED Course. I also want to take an Infant Child CPR with First Aid Course and Basic First Aid Course – but I may be forced to learn that last on my own via the ‘Net.
