create something

I found a silver lamp that I got recently that desperately needs a lampshade. I’ve been running different ideas in my head while walking. That’s one reason I really love to walk. It gets my creative juices flowing. I also noticed tonight that listening to Beethoven has the same affect on me.

I have a couple of ideas that I like, but I still need to look around for the right materials to use. I haven’t created anything in so long. It feels great to get excited about it again. It reminds me to listen to myself and to those things that bring me joy. It’s so nice to feel that energy coming back into my life after such a long time.

With cilantro, mint, basil and parsley, in order of my favorites. Yummy! Still need to grow some rosemary and oregano, at the least. I’ve been using the cilantro and basil to garnish pho and found that the little one loves it just as much as I do. We had it for dinner several nights in a row, so good! She wants to learn to use chopsticks like Mommy, but it’s hard for little hands. Tonight I made roasted eggplant topped with ricotta and Parmesan mixed with chopped prosciutto, and seasoned with fresh rosemary and nutmeg, with a basil leaf wrapped inside each slice, and a sauce spooned over the top made of minced garlic and balsamic vinegar pureed with roasted red peppers. I had to make myself stop eating it. I can’t wait to make Mojitos with the mint!

On the left is a photo transfer I did from copies of my grandfather’s WWII photos from Hawaii. On the right is a screen print I made of my favorite album, which means much more to me than “favorite album” could ever explain. The lamp I found at the thrift shop and did some beading on. The chest I’m still in the middle of painting a cerulean shade of blue, and I found the airplane in a discount shop. I love making the space really personal like this. :)

I was thinking that I create everyday…...of course the only thing I actually create is a mess.

wy am I so messy?

started many projects.
hopefully will actually get something done from them.

What do i do with my time? I want to take it, create something solid. not some partial project that just collects dust. i want something that when seen or thought of, my name pops up.
