"It took some bit of money, time, set-up and equipment adjusting...and in the end it was awesome!""
How I did it: I gave my boyfriend a tank of guppies, I've been wanting to give him a pet but he lives in an apartment. He's not so great with handling animals, so I made it so that...all he had to do was feed them each day.
In the beginning a few would die each day. It took me a month to finally get everything right. My boyfriend had the AC blasting, so it was freezing in the room. I bought a tank heater. I put in tank decorations, which I thought was unecessary but the fish seemed to love it and grow happier.
In about a month two of the guppies appeard to be pregnant...I soon noticed one little baby on one of my visits to his house but they were getting gulped down and eaten by the adults.
I bought a netted seperator for raising baby fish, I also bought another floating tank that lets you put the mother at the top and the babies fall to the bottom into safety when born. IT WORKED
Now I have tons of little growing baby guppies in the net, they'r starting to gain color now. My boyfriend is a little overwhelmed with the thought that they'll all live in that tank.
Lessons & tips: I bought test strips for the water and bottles of ph up and ph down. I use tap water so I bought a bottle of water conditioner for treating tap water. Make sure the filter is not too strong, and the heater sets it to a temperature that is right for them. They do best in warmer tanks, babies grow faster when its warmer too!
Resources: The internet provides a lot of information for guppy breeding, tips, and care information.
