So, my 100 different days was a great idea and for the most part & I tried to keep each day unique in it’s own way, but didn’t really keep much written track after the first week or so. Anyway, the year ended with me not doing anything at all, I celebrated the coming of 2007 in my apartment by myself just chillin’ out. It was nice, but I now wish I’d done something a bit more exciting. :) 5 years ago

I don’t really have the time to make this really special right now. Plus i can honestly say that almost every day i live is different from the last. Some days i would get to the end of the day and think “MAN i didnt do anthing new today!” but then i would remember that i had launched a trashbag full of helium or bought a Nacho Libre mask and worn it around or took a bite out of a raw onion.
i guess that i just love living life and the whole 100 day thing made it stressful for me instead of enjoyable. I think its an awesome idea though. 5 years ago

I haven’t been keeping written track of my days like I had orginally planned, but with my move to Chicago and my new job every day is extremely different and I couldn’t be happier.
With my new job no day is every the same and add in the sporadic Chicago weather almost nothing is predictable. I love it! 5 years ago

In pursuit of having 100 Different Days!
Day 3: September 25, 2006
Today was a day of productivity. I woke up early, worked on organizing and decluttering my room for a while, got dressed and drove over to the electronics store where I found a small digicam for traveling, then I went to a different bookstore (than the one from yesterday) and finally found a new journal that I really like.
When I came back home I was working on my room again but my father asked me to do the dishes. But in his tone I knew what he really meant was ‘Clean the kitchen!’ so I scrubbed down the kitchen just in time for mom to get home from work. As she cooked dinner I worked on my room some more and was mildly delighted to come across my very old passport. I had the chubbiest face!
When I was 2 my dad was stationed in Germany and we all lived there for a year. I don’t have any vivid memories but I do have bits and pieces that I think are from around that time. Last year I had hoped to visit the town in Germany that we lived in but, sadly, I never made it as far as Germany before running out of funds. I also felt terrible because I was supposed to meet up with Sven in Munich. Unfortunately a couple days before I left for home I tried to e-mail him to see if he wanted to meet up, but he was out of town when I was trying to get in contact with him so I went to Interlaken instead of Munich and by the time he got in contact with me I was headed back to London. We will meet up again sometime though. For some reason I am just sure of this, don’t ask me why.
As mentioned above I bought a new digicam today. Canon’s new PowerShot S3 IS and I love it already. This little baby is going on a test run with me to Chicago and if I can’t find any significant faults with it I’m going to be selling my digital SLR.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my SLR but the thing is heavy beyond all belief and it’s accessories are expensive!! In a burst of impulsiveness last week I decided it would be a good idea to purchase 2 extremely expensive (think small debt) high quality lenses to carry around with my camera. I have since received those lenses and have been carrying them with me at all times. My bag must weigh a good 15lbs now and is very bulky. On top of the small debt and weight I’m constantly worried about breaking the camera and/or lenses and I just don’t need to be worrying like that all the time. Maybe in the future I will be ready for a digital SLR, but for now I’m much more comfortable carrying around my small/inconspicuous (but with super zoom – 12x optical – capabilities!) digicam. And in my humble opinion comfort is key for taking good photos. :) 5 years ago

In pursuit of having 100 Different Days!
Day 4: September 26, 2006
Not much was ‘different’ but, I did see a movie with some friends. As I drove home I decided to take my time and do some sunroof (moon roof?) stargazing. It was a little cloudy so I couldn’t see everything, but it was refreshing. I don’t open my sunroof as often as I’d like.
Day 5: September 27, 2006
I went driving again, but this time I drove about 40 miles east of the city on I-70 but I couldn’t see much in the sky because it was cloudy. I did get lost a bit and at one point I nearly peed my pants when the exit off the highway was about 20 feet shorter than I thought it was. There was no stoplight or street lights in sight. hee! Thank goodness also for no traffic in the country. :) Driving back home I put on my Audio French Lessons in the car and was surprised at how much I still remembered… Mais je voudrais apprendre plus français!
Day 6: September 28, 2006
I tried for a second unsuccesful time to consolidate my school loan. I guess I’m just stuck with it and it’s enormous 17% intrest rate for the time being. I also did something extremely impulsive today that could change my life, but more on that will be dicussed next week. ;) No matter what comes of this impulsive decision, for today I am happy and very proud of myself and that’s what matters. Plus, I think I have better/clearer idea of what I want to be doing with my life right now. 5 years ago

In pursuit of having 100 Different Days!
Day 2: September 24, 2006
After such a crazy day yesterday I decided to take things easy today. I didn’t wake up until my alarm went off at 11:00 so I got up, ate some cereal and watched a bit of football until around 3:00. I finally got off my butt and got dressed to go look for a new journal at the bookstore, but I didn’t really find one I wanted so I went to the travel section to look up more info on Chicago. I think I might try to do a walking architecture tour while I’m there or maybe a bike tour – I’m not sure yet. I think it will just end up being something I’ll decide while I’m there to see what I feel like doing at that time.
After I left the bookstore I pulled out the directions to a business called Kansas City Adventures that offers tourists advice, maps, tours, etc of the area and I just wanted to go by to see what their hours were so I could stop in some other time to see if they were looking to hire anyone. Turns out the address for this business didn’t even lead me to a business building at all, it looked to just be a house in the middle of an old rundown neighborhood. Maybe I got the wrong adress or something, so I’ll guess I’ll have to re-check the address from the article I found last week about the gal that runs the business.
So today was much less adventurous than yesterday, but the goal is just to do something out of my routine and let things happen – or not happen – as they do. 5 years ago

Day 1: September 23, 2006
Wow. Way to start off with a bang. Today was so completely different than any other normal day that I might have just filled my quota for the month! It started off normally enough when I visited the Liberty Memorial tower and museums. (It’s A WW1 memorial that I had never taken the opportunity to see.) While I was there enjoying the scenery, great weather and peacefulness two guys came over to flirt with me – and for the first time in quite a while they weren’t old and creepy – whoo!
On my way home I called my best friend to see if she wanted to go out that night and she invited me out with some other people to a bar called Missie B’s. This is a famous gay bar in town where men and women in drag put on perfomances (lip sync, dance, sing songs, etc.) where people from all over (of all orientations) go to because it’s such great fun. I had never been before, but I kept with my do something different attitude and agreed to go. Little did I know what I was in store for, because nearly 15 minutes after arriving I was being patted on the head and nearly licked by one of the transgender stage performers. It was all very amusing to my friends and a little embarassing for myself, but it was all in good fun, besides Flo is hilarious!
Afterwards we met up with my best friend’s boyfriend and made our way over to The Newsroom where he had a drink and the two of us sobered up from our eventful night. And while I was there another guy was very flirty with me as well, but I didn’t chat him up because I knew in a few minutes we were leaving to go to a nearby 24hr. diner so we could all get something in our stomachs besides liquid. To end the night I ate a very greasy grilled cheese sandwich then drove my tired ass home and fell into bed around 3:45 a.m. with a big smile on my face for having a most decidedly different day. 5 years ago

For the time being, I’m just going to be posting genral updates about this goal – nothing specific. I’m keeping track in my journal and when I’m finished I’ll post all 100 days in one entry. Maybe I’ll change my mind later, but for now this is what I’m going to do. Today is the first day and I’m exicted to see where I’ll be at in 100 days, but for now I’ll just focus on today. :)
EDIT Ok, i lied. I’ll be making individual posts here and on my journal to share with anyone who cares to read about my little adventures. 5 years ago

Septmber 30th – October 4th are taken care of since I’m jetting off to Chicago. Now, I just hope to keep this goal going long after I get back from the trip. :) 5 years ago

EditedI counted the days wrong. Sep. 23rd is the correct day.
Why am I starting September 23rd? Because that’s when there’s 100 days left in 2006. I will do at lease ONE thing each day that is out of my normal routine. It might be as simple as walking around my neighborhood or doing something I don’t ‘feel’ like doing that day. And it might also be as elaborate as taking a trip or kissing a stranger! heh.
Who knows…. that’s the beauty of it!! And I will be sure to keep this goal updated as regularly as I can. This goal goes hand in hand with my ‘living in the moment’ goal so I’m excited to see what the rest of this year will bring me. 5 years ago
