I’m not to bad at sewing but i need to learn when to use which thread and what type of stitch would hold best in certain places on the garments. I haven’t attempted clothes yet, but i have just finished making my own bag from an old t shirt and pair of jeans. It didnt turn out to bad. I’ve just brought a book that seems quite helpful and has great ideas for patterns : “Yes i made it myself! diy fashion for the not so domestic goddess” by Eithne Farry. The next thing i’m going to do is turn a pair of jeans into three quarters for my boyfriend. I could really use a sewing machine, but they’re too expensive so i’m hand stitching everything! It hurts my fingers sometimes and takes ages but i feel like ive achieved something.

i like making sock monkeys, weird sock aliens and other cute japanese inspired plush like things. my one downfall is that i suck donkey balls at sewing, so it takes me like 2 weeks to make something that someone who could actually sew would do in an hour.
the other thing… i have a sewing machine
do i know how to use it?
that’s a big negatori good buddy!
i resort to stitching by hand, because it’s easy.

I will mark this done when I can use a pattern to successfully make a garment.
Probably in about May.
