set up my altar

I have all my stuff together and I’m ready to put it up as soon as my house-guests leave!
woo-hoo!

I get back home in a couple weeks and I will set it up immediately.
I can’t wait!!!! :D

yay! i just finished setting up my altar tonight… i cannot claim that it is as expansive or holy as my last altar, but for the space i have, it is just right and will certainly do for now. i have all sorts of my sacred items on display, stones and shells, rattles, sea glass, a plant. just looking at it fills me with peace. ah.

i have lovingly maintained an altar space, on and off, for the last few years. since i move around quite a bit, and travel, i sometimes do not have the time or space to set up an altar – at least, not to the extent that i would like to. i’m going to be in this living space until june, so i figure that is plenty of time to erect a proper altar… and then, when moving, i can simply pack everything up and re-establish my altar in the new living space. at least, that’s the goal! we’ll see how i do.

I’ve cleared away all the unnecessaru items from the old altar, re-established it and lite a candle there.

Tonight, I’ll actually set an offering and say prayers to re-awaken the connection with the Divine.

grins Someone once told me, if your life feels cluttered and ourt of place, check your altar. It probably is cluttered and needs to be re-freshed and re-awakened.

I’m going to need to spend some more time with it and figure out exactly how I’m going to keep it. I like the idea of letting it change fluidly with whatever feels right at the time.

... back into my parents’ place. I’ve got a great basement room, the only real drawback of which is that it’s the route to the laundry room. C’est la vie.

I packed up my altar with very little ceremony, and my box of corresponding knick-nacks is sitting on my new (to me) altar table. It’s in a little nook that should provide a cozy space to meditate, though hopefully it isn’t TOO cramped. I’ll have to see. If need be I can find space for it somewhere else.

I need to dig out my book on altars and finish reading it, too. The next couple of weeks will be a good time for that.

Yes, tonight is the night. I think that it’s time to reset all the altars in the house and to honor them all with Full Moon Ritual.

I need to welcome in the healing energies and to get things on track. Too long has there been chaos and disorder. Too long have I allowed things to just be without trying to move then and make my magic a part of my everyday life.

So, tonight… Full moon in Aquarius, I am going to get off my duff and get things moving.

One baby step at a time.

but i moved, and never got around to setting it back up….

I do have an altar – it’s very simple at the moment, with a few things that have been given to me and a few more that I’ve bought. I hope to build on it, change things around as I need to, and eventually either make or have given to me everything that is a part of it. It would also be nice to have more control over where it is and what direction it faces – to do that I’m going to need to clean my room and my house and think about how I want to set everything up. I also want to continue learning about altars, getting ideas about new things to incorporate into it, and learning/adapting/creating rituals to perform there. I hope to also use it as a focus for meditation.
