It's all about mermaids  — 5 months ago

I am going to paint it with this rocking silver paint and I have already purchased some mermaid art to hang and a bunch of cool seashell decor. It’ll be awesome. Silver grey and plum with a touch of blue

    Worth doing!

Just finished it yesterday. It took much longer on my own, yet really satisfying
The yellow is a really warm yellow but you can’t see it too well in the picture

Well I’ve done both now… mission accomplished

I’ve not decorated for a long time, My Dad was here with me on holiday and helped me buy all the right stuff

I love mini rollers they are so cool and they zoom through painting better than a brush

I’m quite proud of myself as I did most of the work myself , my Dad helped with the tricky bits
My hair smells of white spirit… oh well (I’m a bit messy lol)
I’ll add some nice pictures and a lamp later…
I might even make a pretty little curtain for the window

    Oh what I have started

Bathroom 2 is next on the hit list.. hehehe

Bathroom looks great – pictures, wreath, new towels, bathmats, shower curtain. Feel good about it.

I will create a beautiful space for myself to appreciate my life while I soak in a hot bubbly tub. I will feel so renewed and refereshed every time I enter this special room.

    Worth doing!

Today I went to Target and I bought a new shower curtain, its a blue/green color with little knitted flowers on it, some new white towels, 2 new rugs and a new trash can. It looks so much better in there now. I still want to paint the walls one day, but for now Im happy!

I hate hate hate my bathroom. Its just a jumble of colors that dont go to together, its horrible!! The walls are a bright light blue, as is the toilet seat, the shower curtain is this ugly dark blue, the trash can is forest green which I hate and the rugs are maroon, which I also hate. The towels are all random colors and it just looks like shit in there. So Im hoping to get a new curtain, trash can and rugs by the end of the month, maybe some new towels, and then someday paint it a more appealing color.

    It's almost done!  — 2 years ago

I finally found the motivation to get on with this project after Lucy called me the other day to ask for her painting materials back that she had lent me because I must certainly be done the bathroom by now. I was so embarrassed that I got started that day.

I just have to get the wall behind the vanity painted, and put one more coat of paint on the walls, touch up around the edges and corners, and install the new light fixture and the towel bars and I’m DONE!

    Worth doing!

Lucy (my freelance interior decorator/designer) came over for a haircut the other day (barter payment installment for the last job she did for me) and offered to take my bathroom cupboard doors home with her so we could get the ball rolling on my bathroom for the love of gawd. I cheerfully surrendered the pitiful-looking 70’s wood melamine finished doors to her along with the white melamine paint and accessories that I had purchased with good intentions months earlier. In a few days they’ll be ready, and she will come back for the drawers and to paint the frame. She has also offered to remove the damaged wallpaper from the walls so I can repaint them.

I guess I am cheating a bit with allowing her to do this for me, but the hardest part of taking on such a large project for me is getting STARTED. I figure if Lucy wants to get the ball rolling for me, I will be more likely to take over and see the project to completion.
