Spoke to a classmate last night who is also super into traveling. It was enheartening; it made me feel that traveling while still in school is more feasible than I thought before.

I realized today that since I’m moving to the west coast in a few months, that’ll shift my focus as to what area of the world I’ll visit next. Though I doubt I’ll get out of the country much while I’m still in school, I’m thinking China (or eastern Russia, or Thailand, or Oz…) may be my next major trip rather than going back to Europe. Of course, living in the Pacific northwest, I expect Canada to be my actual next country visited, hopefully within the year. 12 months ago

Alright, the latest plan: I’m going to be volunteering in Central/South America this winter (hopefully Panama). And in the spring, I plan on visiting my roommate in Germany, and also hopefully getting to Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia during that trip. That’ll take me up to nine countries total.
And of course, I’m still holding out hope that I’ll be able to go to grad school out of the country next year. 22 months ago

If I’m lucky enough to be living in the Netherlands or Denmark this fall (for grad school), I should be able to knock out several countries in rapid succession. Obviously there’ll be whichever one I’m living in, but also my roommate will be living in Germany and several other friends are moving to Europe so I imagine we’ll be visiting each other.
