People just think I am weird... 3 years ago

Why don’t you just call me or text me instead, they say… I think the art and appreciation of this is lost…

I sent out 3 years ago

12 postcards today just to local friends… I even put stamps on them and put them in the mailbox. I bought “him” a Halloween card and already have it addressed with a stamp on it ready to go! Fun!

Well, he got the orangutan 3 years ago

last Monday and he sent me a text message that said “Thanks for the monkey.” Did this goal create any more joy in his day than would have been there anyway? Not sure. Maybe we need to try this goal on a different subject. Looking for a culprit today.

I did it! 3 years ago

I mailed a little letter today with a picture of an orangutan sniffing a flower on it. I glues the picture to a paper, wrote a short note and popped it in the mail to the guy I am dating.

We will see how this works… He might just think I’m a freakin’ loon…

Wait!! I am a freakin’ loon!! Is there any reason to hide it?

    Indeed 3 years ago

My mom or dad would put a note in my lunch every day… I don’t remember what they said now, some parental anecdote I imagine…
I later had a boyfriend who made my lunch for me many days when I was working 18 hours a day and he too always had a short love letter in my lunch… He also used to leave love notes in the oddest of places, in the closet by my shoes, on the mirror in dry erase marker…
Later I had a co-worker who intuitively knew when the day was a little rough and there would always be a pink sticky here or there with words of encouragement.
I am going to try to text less and write more… and may you all be the recipients of a note from me sooner or later… :)

    i think it's a lost art 3 years ago

i remember when i was growing up my mom would leave little letters, or post-it notes for me if she had something to say or remind me of. for me, it’s a little more personal to get a little note or letter instead of just an email, voicemail or something like that. the little note is a disappearing art, becoming lost to the age of technology. so – what i would like to do is try and remember to do it from time to time – just to keep it alive in my life. should be fun – we’ll see.
