money is very tight, and i feel that everytime we start to make some headway in lowering debt and putting money aside, a new problem arises. How can I start saving, if every time i try i have to spend it to keep the bill collectors at bay?

being a college student..saving money is hard :x I am going to try to put at least 15% of my paychecks into savings…so by the time I am done with school I can pay off my loans :D
another goal i’ve written was to start reading more. Today i bought a book called ‘Debt Free, Ca$hed up and laughing: the cheapskates way to living the good life’ by Cath Armstrong and Lea-anne Brighton. So far by flicking through and reading a random paragraph…i’ve been enlightened to the fact, that buying a $3.45 coffee everyday on a lunch break = $24.15 a week…which ads up to $1259.25 per year, just on one coffee a day alone.
Okay, so things are still going slow but there getting there. I’ve learned that if I don’t see the money then I don’t have the urge to spend it. Haven’t reached where I need to be…but I’m no longer in th poor house.
Okay so I’ve been working for the past 8 years an what do I have to show for it…nada. I’ve decided that with the new year I should start doing new things. This year I plan to start off slow…..I’ll try to start saving 200 a week. I know it doesn’t sound like much but hey…I gotta live too.
