How I did it: It was never really a challenge. I wasn't a fan of meat to begin with. I didn't do it for the animals really, but that's become a factor in staying veg. I used to hate salad, but can now tolerate it haha. I still can't eat tofu xP Read how I did it…

How I did it: I just stayed with the awareness that eating meat is basically murdering innocence and that it isn't fair for animals at all. i think that i can easily make it from here. Read how I did it…
How I did it: idk, i just don't like meat, i think its truly gross (no offense) anyways, i love animals and i want to make the world a better place to live in. one with less hate and my body has adapted to being a vegetarian and whenever i smell meat it grosses me out. lol and did you know that if everyone became a vegetarian then people would never go hungry no matter where they lived in the world? just something i found really interesting, so when yo… Read how I did it…

How I did it: I was a vegetarian as a teenager. At 18 I let it go. It took 8 years for me to start again. How I did it: I realized that being a vegetarian was being truer to myself. I did get some extra help though. I went to a place in Los Angeles called Agape one day, a very encouraging place for spiritually-minded people; they were encouraging people to think that being truer to yourself will bring better things into your life. So far, I… Read how I did it…

How I did it: I didn't really have a reason. It wasn't really for the animals or anything. Maybe I just thought I would be healthier. Anyhoo, it was surprisingly easy for me. I never even craved meat. :) Read how I did it…

So this year the day classes started, (Aug. 6) I started again. I’m still not having a whole lot of trouble and I really hope it stays that way. =]

been vegetarian for nearly 8 months, don’t crave meat or anything, only downside is parents keep forcing me to eat fish, i either refuse or there was a tuna salad, i ate around the tuna to look like i had eaten it
Nie What, July already?
Over the past 6 months, I’ve been dreading dinner more and more, and becoming downright disgusted with the dishes I used to eat. I didn’t know why it was happening, and didn’t know what I could do about it until one day when my mom asked me to take some pork and pass the plate around, I surprised myself by blurting out, “I’m going vegetarian!” When they took me seriously, I made myself a salad for dinner and haven’t eaten- or craved(blech!)- meat since. My mom is having a ball finding vegetarian alternatives online and whipping them up for my dinner. I was sullenly picturing salads for the rest of my life, but my mom’s research has led to some delicious dishes my ENTIRE family has enjoyed! My favorites so far are butter bean burgers and eggplant parmesan. Yummy! Much to my mother’s relief, I’ve stopped putting up a fight over coming out to eat dinner and actually look forward to it instead. I feel so much cleaner, healthier, lighter…it’s also jump-started my exercise program and I’ve started spending less time on the computer as a result :) Who knew getting rid of meat in your diet could nudge your life in the right direction?
I’m really not looking forward to maneuvering my way around dishes at friends’ houses or restaurants, but I’m confident I can do it!

Okay, so I admit I fell of the wagon. I had a major operation and started eating meat the day before surgery. But now that I’m feeling pretty covered now, I am going back on the proverbial wagon as it were. Okay. Here it goes!
i was vegetarian for two years but somehow fell off the track. I don’t eat meat that often, but would find it hard to give up seafood and chicken. Even so, i plan in the near future to become vegetarian again. It’s good for the environment, its healthier, cheaper, and nicer to know that animals weren’t killed just so you can eat them.

“Just do it.” That old Nike slogan reminds me of high school running laps around a track in spandex shorts and white Nike high tops. I played volleyball back then and I was a vegetarian, too. I was in the best shape, physically as well as mentally. The focus and drive were incredible.
Can being a vegetarian again at 26 bring that all back? Who knows, but I’m not a wishful thinker. I do know that it feels great now, after only 7 days. I feel closer to myself somehow and my acne is clearing up some. I find myself less distracted by my life and little more relaxed overall.
The challenges: well, this first week was pretty easy. I didn’t try tofu, yet. I did eat a lot of low fat cheese and dairy products. For protein I ate a lot of legumes, chic peas, black and pinto beans, soy beans. I also ate red kale lightly stir fried, which helped my body make the switch more comfortably. Kale is a major detox, but a gentle one.
Let’s see how next week goes!
