find a "real-deal" penpal to write to

Someone else I knew did it and so I’m jumping in, taking the risk… www.postcardx.net Trying to spread random acts of kindness. I sent out 10 cards/postcards/xmas greeting today to strangers!!!

But there is so much joy in receiving a personal note… the joy of anticipation as you head for the mailbox… I will have to work on my handwriting, and there won’t be any spell check… and with the way I ramble, every letter will be 30 pages… A pen pal is a big investment though, one can’t send a few letters then stop, it’s a commitment..

i am talking about actually picking up a pen and paper and writing to someone…no electronic penpal stuff. i actually had an email penpal…a friend of a friend of a friend… and it was cool. unfortunately the “penpalship” really didn’t last too long. so i wanna give it another shot. now – where does one actually go to find a penpal? that’s what i would like to know. is there a secret society of people waiting to find someone else to write to? can i sign up?
