How I did it: i saw my boyfriend's sister making a blanket (though she had it be one BIG square instead of all the little ones) and wanted to try. before i knew how to knit, and when my grandma tried to teach me how to crochet i always lost stitches and my attempt to crochet a scarf ended up with uneven lines. then i tried reading books, but my squares ended up looking like circles, so i was getting something wrong. i went on youtube to see it being do… Read how I did it…

Have you seen ‘how to crochet’ YouTube clips?? There’s so much speedy sleight of hand I gave up and went back to my knitting because that’s all the challenge I can handle right now :/
BlackBugs loves NYC!

I love crochet blankets! You know someone put a lot of love into making one when you see one.
I guess it’s a pretty daggy thing to want to do, but crochet blankets are homely and I want to be able to make them for others.
I might hit mum up about it when I visit and see if she remembers how to ;)
- Got a great 250 crochet stitches book and a basic thin publication to help me read the patterns. So now I’m in the middle of crocheting a hat from a pattern and I’m working motifs and squares using the book. I was always daunted by the pattern reading – but now I’m feeling better about it.
I’d like to make lace to add to my clothing – and I’d also like to actually make a piece of clothing – some kind of top by crocheting it.
Amy Taylor has been working harder to work towards her goals.
After my last entry this morning – i felt somewhat unsatisfied with the progress i made.
So i jumped right back on the band wagon and tried a different approach. I started crocheting in rounds…. AND I DID IT.
I haven’t finished yet, and it doesn’t really lay flat but i am going to make it HUUUUUGE!
I am so excited i gathered the gist of this and hopefully i can progress on to better things.

I’m making a baby hat and booties for the friend of a friend’s baby shower, and the booties presented me with a stitch I’m unfamiliar with: the back post stitch, and front post stitch. The top of the bootie is a granny square, so I am SO thankful for all of those frustrating, irritating hours I spent trying to figure it out. My booties and hat are all in blue, and while the booties on the pattern page look girly, what I’m making looks just fine for the little boy she knows she’s having.
The hat is the same pattern I made for Shawn way back when, only it turned out a lot better. Of course, lol.
When I’m done, I’ll try and post photos for all interested.

It wasn’t brilliant but it feels like i am getting somewhere, slowly!
