evenstar42 is off adventuring for a week

Phase 2 22 months ago

Having gotten rid of the clothes I’d definitely never wear again, my remaining still-too-large wardrobe is sorting itself by a kind of natural selection into things I love wearing and things that get left in the closet until I’ve nothing else to wear. Think I need to start another charity bag and be even more ruthless.

I’ve been doing pretty well with not buying any more clothes, too. In the last several months I’ve only bought one or two items of clothing, and each of them were things I like, know I’ll wear, and look good on me. (That may seem obvious, but it’s a big improvement for me – I have so many clothes that I bought cos I liked them even though they didn’t really fit or flatter, and things I bought just cos they’d do but didn’t really like.) There’s a couple of t-shirts I’ve spotted recently that I really want, though. Maybe I’ll treat myself to one of those as a reward for filling another charity bag.

This weekend I realised 2 years ago

that my chest-of-drawers is full of things I never wear, while the clothes I do wear seem to do a circuit between the laundry hamper, the airer, and sitting folded in a pile “to be put away” that never actually gets put away, just gets worn and returned to the laundry. So I went through the drawers and divided most of the contents between the charity-shop pile and the recycling pile, and then sorted out the to-put-away and to-be-washed piles too, so the clothes situation is (at least temporarily :-p ) under control.

Totally failed 2 years ago

to do anything about this this weekend :( I’m not giving up, though. Will try to get started during the week as soon as I stop feeling all crampy and miserable.
