I love yoga. I am still a beginner because I haven’t taken classes frequently. Ideally, I would like to take classes a few times a week.

How I did it: Yoga would be soooo good for me.. the peacefulness, the stretching etc. But I even worked with a specialist and my joints just hurt too bad, can't even sit on the floor without pain. So for me personally, if it wasn't a floor type exercise, I would be ok. Tai Chi might work better since it is all standing. I wouldn't discourage anyone from it, I think its great, but dissapointed I couldn't do it :( Read how I did it…

Took my first yoga class last Thursday, since I was off work.
I could feel how tight my muscles were – especially my hamstrings! I think this class could help a lot with my injury issues.
As a bonus, at the end of the class, the teacher told me it didn’t look like it was my first time. Yay! That was my competitive spirit that made me do my best.
Later that night, felt like I had been hit by a truck though – or like I had a deep tissue massage.
I want to try and take a class at least 1x a week, preferably 2.

I took my first yoga class last week and felt okay about it. I have a lot of work to do to understand the spiritual side of the practice. I’ll keep you updated. 4/14/09

Vinyasa Rising
Vinyasa Rising-Dynamic Flow Yoga linking breath and movement for a strengthening cardio practice set to rock and popular music.
It’s randomly offered at COCC. Probably not where I want to start with instruction though. Just interesting to ‘write-down’ somewhere if I ever decide I want to try it.
I have been slowly learning new asanas in my own time, and spend at least 45 minutes a day stretching out and meditating to prepare for trail running and rock climbing… or just to relieve stress. I have had a great time teaching myself for a few months, but I feel that I have plateaued a bit, and feel that proper instruction might be what I need to help me break past where I am now.
Finally went to Yoga this morning after a week and a half off (low motivation)...and was reminded at how much it helps with my energy level and mood.
I’ve been doing this regularly for a month and a half. When I make it a regular habit, I will consider this one “done”.
Right now, I have a financial issue to resolve, after that, I will put some money to yoga classes :)
