    Judo 1 year ago

I had done Judo throughout High school and a little bit afterwards. I went to a couple of international tournaments and lost miserably. I’ve always had to quit the season early for some reason or another, whether it be school, or not enough funds, or just being too defeated to continue.

I’m anxiously wanting to return, now that I’m a little more mature and financially secure. I currently cannot however, because I have a toe infection that’d be too painful to be on the mat with.

I’m trying to reintroduce myself to applicable exercise beforehand. Starting today I’m doing 100 sit ups, 100 push ups, and a 100 jumping jacks (and I mean it this time). I’m also going to get a jump rope today or tomorrow, and a resistance cord to do my Uchi Komi outside with resistance and increase my technical ability. Eventually, I’ll need to get a weighted sack to help practice my hip throws.

Once my toe infection clears up, (probably by the new year) I’ll be able to start jogging. I live right next to a park so it’ll be really easy to go.

My goal is to start back at the dojo across the lake by the end of January. Historically, it’s one of the oldest dojos in the country and should have plenty of people to work with.
