How I did it: I've done this a lot as a child, but about a month ago, I went to Spain with my family and my best friend. We had been lying in the sun all day, and play a lot in the waves, childish as we are, we started playing in the sand and started building a sandcastle:) and guess what, it was still as fun as i remembered! I haven't been laughing that much in a looong time:) Read how I did it…

How I did it: My DH and I were walking along the beach in front of our house and as a spur of the moment thing, we began building a little sandcastle. It was great taking that half hour to laugh and play like we were children again leaving all of our grown-up worries and responsibilites to the side for a short while. Read how I did it…

How I did it: We were on vacation this August to the Oregon coast. We traveled there with another couple and their 2 small children. Building a sandcastle is one of the childhood things I was never real proficient at. My sandcastles, if you can call them that, came out wobbly and with half of them missing. I was, apparently, not very good at putting sand into a container and then taking it out.
I’m hoping to get a nice sand kit at some point and build a great sandcastle and take a picture with it. Or maybe I’ll do it the old-fashioned way and I won’t build it with a template!
We’ll have to see, but I know for sure that I’ll be trying to build a sandcastle the next time I’m at the beach. Whenever that is, of course.
i’ve never made a sandcastle despite living in los angeles for all my life! yeah, its weird. hopefully i can build one this summer (:

I was on a beach with friends last week during a holiday. Instead of building a sandcastle I sat with the friend that was not going to build anything. The other two each started thier own sandcastle and then, once they destroyed the others, started working on one together.
I might have been more inclined to join in if I was wearing shorts instead of jeans and if the temperature had been closer to what I consider beach weather.
Maybe at the end of the year.

I built many sandcastles when I was a kid. Down in Florida on vacation… and even in Minnesota with mud(hey, you had to get creative sometimes!). It’s been a while since I’ve built one… I think I’m overdue to build another one.
My older kids were not so into the sand castles this year, but my 5-yr-old and I went to it. wE Built a cute little castle and decorated it with shells.
