I used to be really healthy and didn’t eat anything processed, and went jogging everyday and did a resistance workout about 4 times a week, however I’ve slacked off now that I have a new job and the fact that it’s a Bakery doesnt help. I am working funny hours, not eating meals at regular times so I tend to graze a lot more, and I’m eating more baked goods – it’s hard when they’re sitting right there in front of you all day. My goal is to stop bringing anything home other than bread and Make sure I eat proper meals before/after work (dinner) by freezing left overs in single servings, instead of eating toasted sandwiches and frozen pizza all the time. Oh yeah and I have developed a terrible caffiene habit due to exhaustion/dehydration.
I’m really concerned that my bad habits will cause me to gain back the weight I recently lost (6 kg,14 pounds) however I am having a lot of motivating myself to continue my exercise habits and stop eating crap all the time.
The ironic thing is that I am studying for a Bachelor of Health Sciences, majoring in Nutrition! I don’t eat ridiculously badly, but I could eat a lot better. I need to make this a habit now so that I can help others when I graduate without feeling like a hypocrit. Of course it would be better for my health if I did this also.
I need to stop skipping breakfast so often and not eat rubbish for lunch. Dinner is usually fairly good because this is well organised. I think that is what it comes down to, if there is nothing healthy to eat in the cupboard I will go next door and get fish and chips or just eat 2 minute noodles or something.
My other weakness is I have a bit of a sweet tooth and I always want something… anything… after dinner… so I should start eating fruit then instead of chocolate or ice cream or whatever…
Today there was nothing for lunch so I went next door (had to walk past the fish and chip shop) and bought a loaf of bread to make a sandwhich with. We already had ham, lettuce, tomato, cheese, etc, so it wasn’t all that hard to buy bread. Then I had a banana with yoghurt afterwards for something sweet… the best lunch I have had in a while…

when the level of healthy food I was eating was next to 0. I now eat pretty good.
i think its time to start eating healthy…
i eat way too much junkfood….but im stil good with like vegetables and stuff but i just need to cut out most of the junk food out of my diet and have it occasionally or for a treat i guess.
Stopped going to fast foods and eat more wholegrains bread, fruits, vegetables… I feel much better and it comes cheaper! :)
So, so worth doing!! I feel better, lighter, more energetic and I think my mood is actually better in part because of it. A lifesaver: Student’s Guide to Vegetarian Cooking. I couldn’t live without it. Well, I’d live, but on McDonald’s >: P
And the improvement in energy levels, and the difference to my skin, hair, and twinkle in my eyes(!) has been far quicker and better than expected.
yesterday we bought a rice steamer and ate steamed vegetables with dinner. I actually really like broccoli, which is a surprise. Also I’ve started eating more citrus fruit, which I never could stand as a child, but now I like clementines.
