How to study art

How I did it: I took an art class at a college for a few weeks while developing my skills and abilities. I also was able to visit the local art museum and take in a lot from it

Sold 3 paintings (all of them) at the plein air exhibition. I continue to take still life classes. My portrait class just ended. Last month I participated in a 4 day plein air workshop.
I painted in the bird sanctuary yesterday and today I painted a farm. I think the trick is to just keep painting.

I exhibited in a still life show and sold two paintings. I’m in an upcoming plein air show.

I’ve been painting up a storm…figure, still life, portrait and plein air. I’m going to be in still life student/teacher show in February and a plein air show in March.

I’ve since taken 3 figure classes using the oil painting technique of the old masters. I’ve also taken an alla prima portrait class, 2 3 day workshops (landscape and cityscape) and I join the Plein Air Painters of Chicago nearly every Saturday morning for painting.
