get the school district to authorize the charter school for another 5 years

I’ve always kept the motto “dream until your dreams come true” as a guide to my life. I’m so glad that I did. Through many trials, sleepless nights, “impossible tasks”, two years of work, and four months of legal negotiations that seemed to nearly dissolve in the final two weeks, I finally did it! The dream is realized…...my little charter school in a corner of the Chihuahuan Desert has it’s approved reauthorized charter!!!!!!!! It is incredible and wonderful to have such a huge project completed.
Year before last, nobody would have thought that this school would succeed, let alone have a charter approved, by unanimous vote, by a host district that once moved to shut the school down.
Dream yourself a dream come true. Hellz Yeah!

i’m a little dustevil of nerves this morning!!!!
in 2 hours i meet with the local school district to make final negotiations on a charter reauthorization for the little school i represent. dayum i’m all a jitter. wish me goodness!
maybe the scorpion venom will keep me more calm? eeepers!

The District requested an extension of time. I granted them two weeks. My Council is very displeased with me. Negotiations must take place regardless. It is a difficult endeavor to do what is right despite the distinct opposition by those I have to lead.

I’ve been working as a volunteer for the small charter school my son attends. It’s been a struggle to keep the powers that be from closing the school….they wanted it to be closed, not for any valid reason, but for politics and resistance to change. Right now, the charter is up for renewal. The reapplication has been turned in, reviewed, revamped, and now, by September 30, the host district must vote.
