It took me forever to grow it out, but now I dont like it. Its just so blah and plain. It needs to be trimmed because my layers are super long, but I think I just want to cut off a good six inches. But I want it to be long enough for me to french braid.

I’m sick of my hair. It looks hideous due to the relaxer I got several months ago. I want to just chop it all off and start fresh. I need to find a stylist in New York, since Scotty’s back home in Texas.

For years I had hair past my ass, I didn’t even like how it looked, and it was awful to maintain, but I believed in the stereotypes and thought if I HAD long hair, I would be able to stay in the closet longer and not make myself an easy target. A few years ago I cut it, had a severe panic attack, it was like a piece of me was gone, I felt very vulnerable, but people seemed to respond warmly to the change and I’m aware now that it is JUST HAIR! But, I find my hair grows really fast and the way my hairline is, which is to grow very thick at the back, it can get kind of mullety which isn’t really a great look on anyone, gay, straight or from the 80’s! I am really digging the idea of a more androgynous look like an emo boy. I might dye it black with some temporary spray on colour just as an experiment before fully committing, my only concerns are:
1- Since I am so fair I might look too washed out
2- Because my hair can grow an inch a week, I will be dealing with major rootage and do not possess the skills/cashflow to keep up with the colour
