I’ve been dyeing my hair for almost 20 years and finally got tired of it but didn’t want to just let it grow out, it would take forever. So instead I had it cut short, real short. Now its been about 8 months since I first cut it all off, had it trimmed a couple of times since then, but decided to let it try and grow out some. Of course its at the stage where it’s shaggy but too short to put in a ponytail. 8 months ago

It’s just one of those life skills that’s worth learning how to do. For guys like me with a relatively short hair (I do have bangs) finding a simple and easy style is doable and even a harder one is also. The first few times are always challenging but after that it becomes second nature. Invest in a GOOD pair of clippers and scissors; they will pay for themselves many times over. 10 months ago

I tend to like my hair at the two extremes: long or short.
Right now my hair is well past my waist and I’m dying to chop it or do something different with it (I’ve been growing it from chin length in 2008) but I’m holding out on cutting it short until after my wedding… 17 months ago

How I did it: Well, since I was 15, I've dyed my hair every color under the sun. I was born with black hair that lightened into a dark brown...
Then at 15 and since then it's been chestnut, tinted red, firey red, bleached blonde, streaked greed, you name it..my hair has seen it.
Then a few years ago, I simply stopped. I chopped it all off and grew it out.... all natural.
Now, my hair is thick, curly, and wild. It is what it is... and has always been this way. It's also quite long. Or I should say was always quite long. When straightened with a blow dryer, it easily cascaded passed the middle of my back....
Today, in my dear friend's kitchen, I sat upon a stool with my towel dried hair. She was nervous about cutting it.... no she was more than nervous.
I assured her that I wouldn't get mad and that I'd love her forever, and I meant it :) After all, it's just hair... it grows back!
When she was ready she said, "Don't move, don't breathe, and don't laugh." heheheh!!! I cracked a smile on my face from ear to ear cause I desperately wanted to laugh!!
And then I heard it: the sound the scissors make when they cut through hair. I can't tell you how excited I was. I sat frozen in position as she layered through my hair. My eyes followed her cat and dog as they wrestled on the floor. I had to bite my lip to stop me from laughing... the poor woman was so nervous!!!
And then, she was done :) My curls framed my face and I was beaming!!!
I went from the long haired hippie to the short haired pixie :)
I LOVE my hair :D :D :D :D

How I did it: I just started cutting. I knew how i didnt want my hair, but i didnt know what i wanted exactly. but i have confidence and i just went at it.
i cut it so its easy to style.. and i like having short hair.. so it made it kind of easy.
and i lovvve my hair, and i love changing it up very often.
finally after i was happy with the coloring, i was ready to cut it off.. i dont like shagggy-ness.
