livelaughrepeat is ready for some life altering changes!
I will attend a class to learn to meditate or listen to the mediation podcasts on my iPod.
How I did it: I basically did it by taking a meditation course that taught me the skills for meditation. It was quite helpful to have a class once a week where you could discuss as a group the difficulties, successes and questions that arose while trying to learn.I highly recommend taking a course. I would not have come as far as I have without one. Read how I did it…

How I did it: Moved to a new city which offered "Exploring Meditation Class". I go every week on Monday nights, and I really enjoy it. Sometimes its harder than others, but I gain new insight each time I go. Better than exercise or going for a drink! Read how I did it…

I’ve learned the hows and whys of meditation. It’s difficult and a hard road, but I think in the end it will be helpful. So I have learned how. I just need to put it into practice on a regular basis.
I highly recommend Mindful Based Meditation courses. Ours was based on the work of Jon Kabat Zim. His books are quite helpful in explaining things.
My cousin came to visit me last night who I haven’t seen for about a year & she said there’s a Buddhist centre just around the corner from my house that she goes to & they teach meditation for free the first three Saturday mornings of each month so I will be starting next month woohoooo

We do a kind of meditation at the end of my yoga class and I really enjoy it, it’s fantastic stress relief. Now I just need to make time and learn how to do it alone.
Is really workin for me!!
Well, for the last two days anyways. I’m also reading “A New Earth” by Eckard Tolle which is helping me understand ego and to stop identifying with it. That’s helping me a lot
I still have a ways to go, but I am finding moments of success where I am just aware of my breath, in the moment and at peace. I have more moments of thoughts flitting into my mind. I am getting pretty good about noticing them, acknowledging them, and letting them go instead of following them down a trail of thoughts.
I think this could change my life.
I’ve started my course and I think it may help. I’ve been to two classes and some of it seems to be making sense. We’ll see after the 9 weeks of classes and homework how I’m doing.
It looks like I’m going to be able to get into the class. Hopefully at any rate.
It’s a lot of work but I’m hoping it will really make a difference. Should be a 3 hour class once a week with a 1 day seminar as well. There is a also a bunch of homework too.
But it should be good.

My son put “How to Meditate” with Pema Chodron on my i.pod today. If I was really dedicated, I would listen to it. However, the trouble with being a student, a mom and an employee is that if I ever do have time to close my eyes, I usually fall asleep. ;)
