I lived at a summer camp the summer that I was 9. My mom was the camp nurse, and I’d get to go for free… so I went for every session they had. I made friends with the counselors, I ate way too much camp food and went on way too many horseback rides, but it was the most amazing summer of my life. Camp Osito Rancho. I just sent an email to the person who hires their camp counselors, and I’m trying to get a spot there this summer, at least for a month. I’ve been a counselor three years in a row at a week long spring break girl scout camp, and another week at a YMCA camp, so I hope I can get this one! I’ll keep updated. 2 years ago
Summer camp as a counselor is the Good the Bad the Awesome and the Terrible all rolled into one. It’s a good life experience and I recommend it. 4 years ago
One of the toughest experiences of my life. Had some of the naughtiest girls imaginable but got through 7 weeks with them ans ended up making some really great friends through it all. I learnt that it’s when you’re going through the toughest times that you learn the most and the friends I made during this time will be friends forever! 4 years ago

I wrote an email to the guy who directed the summer camp I attended last year. He remembered me and said it’d be great if I came as a counselor! So, that’s what I’m doing this summer, July 24-30, in Idaho! Woohoo! Silverwood! Roller coasters! Bees! Water skiing! Recycled food! Oh yeah!
