I can go to one. There are a few drive-ins within 2-3 hours of me, one of which I heard is closing down soon :( I need to get rolling with this!

How I did it: Ah, we all know it's not that hard to go to a drive in movie, since many towns have at least that one crappy place that you never think of but occasionally drive past. But once i heard that they were playing the original night of the living dead, i had to get some friends together and take the plunge. Read how I did it…

How I did it: A friend of mine said she went and said she had a good time. The drive-in is relatively near where I live so one weekend when we had nothing to do my boyfriend and I just went. Read how I did it…

It was another perfect night for a movie at the drive-in.

Last week we went to the cascade drive in in west chicago. We saw Indiana Jones and You don’t mess with the Zohan, both of which I heard were pretty bad but I enjoyed them. I always tend to like movies that no one else does and hate the ones that are really popular. Anyway… the drive in is always fun. I really love the old advertisements they play before and in between the movies, like the hot dog that dances and jumps into the bun. The whole experience feels straigt out of the 50’s. In fact, the concession stand and everything else probably haven’t been replaced since then. Its kind of old fashion but it’s soooooo fun.

at the Calvert Drive-In earlier this week. As usual, we had a great time.

I love summer and every year there’s a list of things I absolutely have to do before it’s over and going to a drive in movie is one of them. There aren’t too many around anymore so I’m greatful to live in the chicago land area where the cascade drive in is only a few miles from my home. It really just becomes a matter of finding time on a clear night and being prepared to stay out until almost 2 in the morning since its always a double feature and the movies dont even begin until dusk.

We saw “Iron Man” at the Calvert Drive-In last night. It was a perfect night for a movie, and I’m happy to say that the place was packed. This drive-in has been open for 55 years and is still owned by the same family. (Long live the drive-in!)
The drive-in in Georgetown, IN, opens this weekend! Since it’s opening weekend, they are discounting the admission price to almost nothing, which just makes it that much sweeter. I am so there!
The drive in has re-opened for spring. We might go as soon as this week! Yay. I’m not too crazy about seeing “College Road Trip” but based on last year, I think if we wait for a week when both the movies look good we’ll never make it.
ambler It's Life ... Live it!!
In this age of dvd’s, video, huge multiplex cinemas with stadium seating, and air conditioning, going to a drive-in, if you can find one is truly roughing it.
Going to the drive-in was never about the movie anyway. It was the fresh air, cool starry nights, heavy cranky speakers, bad greasy food, and lots of romance and fun with the one(s) your with. Peace
