Beauty is cool 12 months ago

But I miss the hustle and bustle of the city.

Last night I watched the ducks and geese on the river, a beautiful sunset, a few people using the bike path but the quiet was deafening.

Will I ever get used to this?

I am blessed to live 14 months ago

where there are more trees than people and yet it is hard for me to adjust to all of this beauty. I truly love nature but also love the comforts of the city.

When I told my son “you can’t eat the scenery” he laughed and said yes you can. How do you think the pioneers and Indians survived before grocery stores?

I forgot he is my wilderness survival child. ;)

Not that living in Michigan isn't great and all... 19 months ago

I suppose some people would tell me I already live somewhere beautiful. Lots of people love Michigan. I was born here, so in some ways I love it also. But…

The fact that we get almost no sunlight from December to March makes me absolutely crazy. It’s so gray here so much of the time.

Someday I want to live somewhere, and I don’t know where it is yet, that’s really beautiful. I think it would be worth giving up other things to make beauty a priority.

The first snow 19 months ago

of the season for my hometown (Missoula) was last night. It is 2 hours south of here and we still have no snow on the ground. :(

Even though there are about 500 people without power it is a beautiful winter wonderland.

It is a crisp fall day 20 months ago

By crisp I mean 38 degrees…the frost is still on the roof and deck and it is 1 in the afternoon!

It is beautifully serene…the sky is blue, the sun is shining and the deer are grazing on the hill above my place.

I am baking homemade bread from an easy recipe that a friend gave me and making plans for my leap of faith.

Life is good.

And it gets more beautiful by the day 21 months ago

as I develop my garden and plant more trees. This beauty spot is a work in progress.

GO ME! 23 months ago

We now live in Southern California less than 2 miles from the beach. I win!

Looking out of the bedroom window 2 years ago

it seems I am in a Norman Rockwell winter wonderland. Huge banks of snow and naturally flocked pine trees all around. The deer walk past on their path.

Far different from the scenery I had yesterday in Texas. :)

Quaint and Quiet 2 years ago

is the description I would tell you of my new home. It is definitely a tourist area with wonderful things to see and do.

A dramtic change from the sprawling urban growth I have lived in the last twenty some years.

Remember a few months ago 2 years ago

I wrote that my brother had gotten his real estate license and was selling God’s Country in Northwestern Montana by Glacier Park?

Well he is doing so well he bought the company. Today he called and offered me a career position with him and a home until I get on my feet.

I called my sons and they were ecstatic for me. They said they would be on the first plane. My mom called and asked when I could leave here…

It looks like I am Montana bound. :)
