Took a chilly dip in the pool before work.
Did brainless (read fun) things at work today. Things that have to be done, but which I find entertaining.
Took an out of work Rabbi to dinner and had a very pleasant conversation this evening.
Youngest son rubbed my sore shoulder.

I wasn’t feeling well this morning so mid-morning I went back to bed and stayed there virtually all day. I feel much better and relaxed.
I’m the only one home. Wife out of town. Kids all doing July 4th activities.
Listening to the rain.
Listening to the quiet.
Did Havdalah at dark.
Leftover Chinese food.

Pleasant work day.
No kid drama within a 3 mile radius.
Great lunch… and it was FREE!
Sat in on a meeting on a committee that I am not on. It was refreshing not having to say anything to be appointed to doing something.
Dip in the pool well after dark. It is great to float around in the dark on a warm summer night.

Slept late.
Very relaxed day even though I accomplished my chore goals.
Great lunch at my favorite pasta shop.
No kids home! Quiet.
Going for a swim at dusk.

A rather pleasant day.
Slow at work… for a change.
Did some cool stuff in Flash for a website.
No kid drama for the entire day!
Wife and I went to Shabbat services.
Lit Shabbat candles at home in our bedroom and we both fell asleep with that wonderful glow in the room. Very nice way to fall asleep.

It had been a very rough week emotionally. We had to kick one of our children out of the house! He is 20, refuses to work, comes home drunk and stoned at all hours of the night. Totally out of control.
We gave him an ultimatum. Clean it up, look for work or fly the nest. There have been lots of arguments with him this week about this. He knocked holes in the walls, etc. He left this morning.
We spent some time talking to our Rabbi, who helped with his guidance and understanding.
After the event today, things were quiet. Thankfully. My wife and I did some errands, went to the farmers market, did some shopping. We just tried to be gentle with each other.
We had a nice swim this afternoon. Perfect swimming weather.
We made a very nice Shabbat meal this evening and later we did Havdalah
We are hoping for quiet, peace, gentleness. There is one more day to the weekend and I plan to do absolutely nothing. :-)

1. “Got” a bunch of new clothes, including some booty shorts and yoga pants, both of which I’ve been wanting for a while now but haven’t been able to find any that fit well.
2. My boyfriend opted out of a gaming tournament that he would have had to pay to enter – we’re really, really short on money this month and he’s very impulsive when it comes to spending, so I was glad when he rethought it.
3. I know this is a really small, really insignificant sort of thing, but since school let out I’ve been playing a lot of video games (particularly Super Smash Bros) and earlier I kicked ASS with my character, Game & Watch. :3
4. When I told my boyfriend that I was feeling down, he came out from doing whatever he was doing and sat with me while we snuggled and watched a movie. I could tell he was also putting in extra effort to being super cute and affectionate to boost my mood – it was really sweet. .

1. I got to tutor my favorite student today – I wrote about it in my entry for ‘become a better teacher’. I felt so good after teaching her – I managed to get her excited about reading the book, and we came up with some good ideas for getting her fluency and comprehension level up. I was totally stoked :D Oh, and as a ‘thank you’ for our school year of working together, she and her mom got these cute bird-shaped earrings for me .
2. In general the rest of the day was pretty chill, and perfect like that – both my boyfriend and I needed the break after a hectic week, so playing video games, watching movies, and just hanging out was ideal.
3. After we got back from the movie at a friend’s house, my boyfriend set up a little light fountain behind a curtain that hangs in front of our bed so that there was a dim glow behind it. Once we lay down, we made the best love we’ve had in a long time – it’s nice finally having the energy to do it.

1. I wrote a goodbye letter to my friend/colleague who’s retiring this year. I put a lot of things in it that I’ve always thought but never said to her. Today she told me that it moved her so much she cried. It was nice to know my words could mean so much to someone.
2. In Instructor’s Training today we finished up the practice teaching sessions. Mr. K wrapped it up by telling us, the five students, to help each other and practice teaching on each other. Then, he told me that I was the best out of everyone right now, and that the others should watch and try to emulate me. Saying that I’m the best is one thing, but to be good enough that he’s telling the others to use me as a model for their own teaching is beyond a simple compliment.

This weekend was just spectacular.
Friday night at the Synagogue, then a dinner was served afterward. Very nice atmosphere. Saturday I spent time in the Library, will my lovely wife joined our Synagogue choir. She had a BLAST!
Saturday night we went to a friends house to hear a lecture by our Cantor about 4 Jewish women in history. It was very interesting.
This morning we attended a group session with our Rabbi about Judaica in the home. I even learned a few things!
Long, deep nap this afternoon.
Just a wonderful weekend all around. I wish they were all this fun.
