    The Cabbage Soup Diet
One of the most famous fad diets, the Cabbage Soup Diet is a very low calorie low fat diet based on (you’ve guessed it) cabbage soup, plus a few other foods, including vegetables, fruits and restricted carbs and protein. Typically the advice is to follow it for 7 days, then eat normally for 14 days, then return to the Cabbage Soup Diet for another 7 days and so on.

Despite claims to the contrary, cabbage does not possess any ‘fat-burning’ properties. The reason the Cabbage Soup Diet causes weight loss is because it provides no more than about 800-900 calories a day.

I'm going to do this again... 2 years ago

going to start up on Monday night as a friend is coming over to help me make an awesome cabbage soup hopefully! More details to come :-)

    Well, 3 years ago

I did lose 3 pounds this week so overall I think it was a good diet. However, I did cheat EVERY day! I wonder how much more I might have lost if I hadn’t cheated? I guess it’s a good diet since I didn’t gain any weight at least!

That’s why I’ll love to try this diet again in a couple weeks (after my birthday but before Thanksgiving!) Hopefully the next time I try it the soup I make will be better. That way I won’t be quite so tempted to cheat. However, when you to the 4th day or so of this diet it becomes very hard not to cheat and I’d imagine the soup would have to be pretty darn special for someone not to cheat.

Overall I think this was a good diet.

I’ve heard talk of a Lemonade diet which is supposed to be very good. I haven’t looked into it yet though.

    Cheers,
    Sissy

Today was the brown rice day. I think I’m allowed meat today too. I was allowed meat a couple days, but didn’t have any. I usually only keep chicken in my house.

Yeah, so work is a problem! I have people in my classroom that want to order out food all the time. So, they ordered Turkey Clubs, hotdogs and such but I decided to stick with my soup but then ended up cheating a little bit. BLAST THEM!

    BREAKIE: 1 bowl cabbage soup

LUNCH: 1/2 bowl cabbage soup (now here’s the cheating part) 2 mozzarella sticks and a 1/4 cup pasta salad (from my students)

SNACK: handful of cheetos with a friend after school. BLAST HIM!

DINNER: 1 brown rice, pineapple, and chicken teriyaki bowl. Basically, I put pineapple and chicken breast in Teriyaki marinade and cut up and cooked in a wok then put on bed of brown rice. It was good. It was nice to have some meat.

    SNACK: 1 bowl of cereal

Today was the tomato day of the diet. It says you can eat a bunch of tomatoes on this day. However, I only had them at dinnertime on a salad.

I cheated a little this day as well! I think it’s due to the fact that I’ve practically ruined my soup. In the process of trying to doctor it up I’ve added way to much pepper. Now, it tastes like pepper water LOL.

BREAKIE: 1 bowl of cabbage soup

LUNCH: 1 piece of Carrot Cake (blasted cafe staff keep selling treats at school!)

    PM SNACK: 1 peach

DINNER: 1 green salad with a bunch of grape tomatoes on top.

SNACK: 1 piece of carrot cake

I also had a lot of water throughout the day of course.

I cheated today as I had some snacks at my work meeting. Blast them for eating at those things!

Also, today was the bananna/milk product day so I tried to eat the banannas mostly and such.

BREAKIE: 2 banannas blended with 16 oz. skim milk and a little vanilla extract, water, and suppliments

SNACK: 1 glazed doughnut and glass of apple cider

LUNCH: 1 bowl cabbage soup, one bananna blended with 1 cup fat free french vanilla yhogurt and a bit of sugar, water

SNACK: 1 handful of cheetos and poppycock just the nuts

DINNER: 1 banana blended with 1 cup fat free french vanilla yhogurt.

P.S. I’m hungry but it’s bedtime so I’m going to wait till morning and have some soup.

    • I cheated a little bit today as well as I had the cereal and milk.

BREAKIE: 1 bowl cabbage soup, water, and suppliments

    SNACK: 1 medium orange

LUNCH: 1 bowl cabbage soup, seedless red grapes, water

SNACK: 1 glass skim chocolate milk

    DINNER: 1 bowl of cereal

SNACK: 1 bowl of cabbage soup.

Monday, September 25th 3 years ago

BREAKIE: Cabbage soup, water, and suppliments

    LUNCH: Salad, apple, water

DINNER: Turkey, mashed potato, stuffing, squash, and roll with a slice of apple pie for dessert (This is the special Harvest Dinner I’d been planning for)

OK, first day on this diet... 3 years ago

Already, it seems hard. I am not full… my tummy seems to be very hungry. That is probably becuase I’ve had very little to eat all day. The soup is there but… it’s just not tasty, so I’ve not been eating.

LMAO, I guess that’s one way to lose weight. When the food tastes so bad you won’t eat it!

Anyhow, I’ll try to attach a photie of this so called soup…

found a wonderful article on drinking water... 3 years ago

    Drinking Water Weight Loss Secrets
Is drinking water also hard for you? Most people don’t drink enough water. And that is true although water is nature’s magical weight-loss mineral. Read here how Drinking Water may effect also your weight loss success.

    Water and your metabolism
It has to do with your metabolism. The metabolism of fat is something that the liver does when it converts stored fat to energy. The liver has other functions, but this is one of its main jobs.
Another of the liver’s duties is to pick up the slack for the kidneys, which need plenty of water to work properly.

If the kidneys are water-deprived, the liver has to do their work along with its own, lowering its total productivity. It then can’t metabolize fat as quickly or efficiently as it could when the kidneys were pulling their own weight.

If you allow this to happen you’re also setting yourself up to store fat. Therefore use the drinking water weight loss “formula”.

Drinking Tips for the 7 day diet:
    - Drink at least 12 large glasses of water or herbal teas per day (your drinking water weight loss guarantee)
    - Add the fatburning vitamine C, press 3 times a day half a lemon in your water glass

    - Drink max. two cups of coffee per day,
    no alcohol!

    - Resolve daily a fizzy tablet of each calcium and magnesium in water. Calcium helps you cover the lack of milk products while dieting. Magnesium strengthens your nerves, activates your muscels and help lose weight.

What is going on in your body while Drinking more
The problem is that, though many decide to increase their water intake, very few stick with it. It’s understandable. During the first few days of drinking more water than your body is accustomed to, you’re running to the bathroom constantly.
As you continue to give your body all the water it could ask for, it gets rid of what it doesn’t need. You are excreting much more than you realize.

Your body figures it doesn’t need to save these stores anymore; it’s trusting that the water will keep coming, and if it does, eventually, the flushing (of both the body and the potty) will cease, allowing the human to return to a normal life.

Water – a Wonderful Beauty Treatment
Water is the best beauty treatment. You’ve heard this often, and it’s true. Water will do wonders for your looks! It flushes out impurities in your skin, leaving you with a clear, glowing complexion.

In addition it makes your skin look younger. Skin plumps up very nicely when the skin cells are hydrated.

It also improves muscle tone. Muscles that have all the water they need contract more easily, making your workout more effective, and you’ll look much nicer than if you had flabby muscles under sagging skin.

    The Perfect Drinking Water for
    Weight Loss Consumption
Water consumption – at leat 12 glasses minimum – should be spread out throughout the day. It’s not healthy at all to drink too much water at one time.

Try to pick three or four times a day when you can have a big glass of water, and then sip in between. Don’t let yourself get thirsty. If you feel thirsty, you’re already becoming dehydrated. Drink when you’re not thirsty yet.

    “How cold should it be?”
Most experts lean toward cold water, because the stomach absorbs it more quickly. There is also some evidence that cold water might enhance fat burning.
On the other hand, warmer water is easier to drink in large quantities, and you might drink more of it without even realizing it. Herbal Teas are also ok, but no coffein! Do whatever suits you, here. Just drink it!

    Special Effect: Your appetite decreases
When you drink all the water you need, you will very quickly notice a decrease in your appetite, possibly even on the first day! This is perfect for your cabbage soup diet. But stick to this “drinking water formula” -also afterwards.
If you’re serious about becoming leaner and healthier, drinking enough water for weight loss effects is an absolute must to achieve!
