i love singing i have been is thauthans of contests and been first and i have never recorded music. sometimes i feel that to remeber my songs i need to record them.
How to record my music
How I did it: I've played music for a while. Always was practicing, eventually started writing.
I've had a computer for a while... I started out just plugging in this little headset microphone in and pressing the red button in sound recorder...
Then I bought a digital "studio;" a Boss BR-8.
Now I can lay down multiple parts-- the bass, the guitars, the other instruments, the vocals-- that I could never do live.
I don't want to "start a band" at the moment, as I can't narrow down my musical tastes to just one type of music. So being able to record whatever I like, whenever I like is a nice option.
When I have enough recordings to call an "album," I do.
Lessons & tips: Have fun.
It isn't always fun... there will be snags. Get over them, then have fun hearing the results.
Listen to your own music. You know what you wanted to do with the music itself better than anyone; recording it gives you the option to see what you DID do, and know that better than anyone.

However, my sound-engineer friend, Bobby, is not. He is so so busy at the studio & told me that he probably won’t have time to record until summer rolls around! I thought about trying somewhere else but Bobby is a dear friend & I’d rather record with a dear friend whom I trust than some strange stinker.
I write a lot of music, but I often let the songs just disappear as I play new ones. I want to just record the sketches of them and have some fun with it.

a new music myspace @ myspace.com/djsasheen. I have some work to be done, but at least it is a start.
so i used to (and kind of still do) have this fear of singing in front of people. when i was a little kid i was in all the talent shows at my school. belting out aretha franklin, elvis presley, nat king cole, and even marvin gaye. but after a while i started to lose confidence in my voice. well i’m overcoming that. i tried out for a singing group and got in, and now my piano teacher is helping me to record some of the songs i’ve written in the past few weeks. it’s such an amazing feeling to finally work on overcoming that fear. but i’m still working on having this actually become a reality instead of just talk. i will make it happen.

I am starting to forget them and write more with a new sound.
I have been avoiding/fearing recording them for 4 years.
in a few weeks i am going to do the scariest thing ever. my friend from way back is a musician and works in a recording studio, and has asked me to finally just come and let him hear me play and sing my music, and he has agreed to give me really honest feedback. im terrified. i want to back out. do i really want to know if i suck? will i be able to hear and process the truth? am i strong enough to put myself out there like that? or will i continue to be a coward and never know if i have any talent or potential. its driving me crazy.
hearing what you or your friends wrote is a good ffeeling
