become a park ranger

I would absolutely adore being a wilderness ranger but i would also like to work with the tourists.

I finally enrolled in PCDI’s Wildlife/Forestry Conservation program. I don’t have time for off campus classes just yet, I need to focus on getting settled here at my first duty station (Tinker AFB, OK). I e-mailed the OK State Parks Dept and they forwarded my interest to the park managers at Lake Thunderbird. Hopefully I can get my feet wet and meet some interesting people in the industry as well as get valuable experience in the field. I’ll be taking classes for my AS Biological Sciences at Rose State next semester. I’ve also been drafting up a plan to do a sort of Backyard Habitat project at family housing throughout the base. This way, the base can be more eco-friendly AND I can reach young children with the message of conservation and hopefully instill a love and respect for nature. I can show them that nature can be more fun than tv and video games!!
