I realized that 43things got too personal for me. I can share this with my close friends but not with everyone I know.. Well, there’s no harm in their coming across my page, but still…

I already told my boyfriend, who liked the idea, and 2 of my closest friends, who didn’t understand the idea… But still, 33% of sucess, and 40 people left. It’ll take time, but I still hope it’s worth doing. For me 43things were a real blessing. Maybe it’ll do the same good to someone else… It’d make me happy. Even happier than I am now.

Oh Well!

I blog, that goes to all my friends. Many of my friends read it…I have chosen to not link from my blog to 43things because it’s something I don’t want to share with my friends everytime they look to see what is doing. I don’t want them to see goals about them, nor my more personal goals, failures, and success.

It sounds selfish, but that is fine…

I want 43things to grow large, and if my friends stumble upon my 4xthings, thats fine…but it will have to be that way.

I have Never been one for the internet. I used to be email only, and even THAT took me forever to get into. But for some reason I am hooked on this site. It’s like an interactive blog… and I know lots of you blog out there, but I’ve never been one for that either! I love this site though. Every minute being able to hear about others experiences, and tell about yours.

I’ve told a handful of people about it and they have only glanced and said “ok, cool”. End of that for them. I have even sent the link to my profile to 3 boys letting them know that if they want to learn about me in a short time, TAKE the time to read my entries. They never did!

But now I like to keep this to myself, it’s almost a diary for me… and some of the things I’ve admitted outright here I like to take my time to tell to the people I meet in ‘real life’. Countless entries I Would Not tell people about when meeting them right off the bat. In ‘real life’ I like to give people a chance to know me without freaking them out! I think it would be neat to one day just print out all my entries and publish them (not sure of the legalities)- goes along with my autobiography goal, that would just be the condensed easy way out!

I’m obviously not trying to be anonymous with all the pictures I have up, but it is nice to just be Juliana. Everyone I know seems to have their own ideas about me, and yes… here comes the Hallmark moment… here I can just be ME!
Yeah, I know, over the top!

I decided not to blast an announcement out to 43 folks. Instead, I’m doing small batches – 1,2,3, maybe 4 at a time. As I started to think about people to introduce, they fell into groups – each of which I wanted to message differently. I imagined the groups as sets of folks who might otherwise have encountered each other within 43things, had they joined independently.

So – 3 family members, 3 eco-tourist friends, 2 music photographer newsletter colleagues – you get the picture.

Seems like a good way to keep friends and family in the loop. Actually, lots of loops.
