I try, I really try, and I’m a trained teacher, but I find it almost impossible to simply explain to my parents what software is, how to save documents in folders, what a folder is, what the desktop is… Dad still points to the shortcut to Word on his desktop and says “there’ll be some documents saved in there”! No, Dad! Aaargh! It’s such a new way of thinking for them, and so familiar to me (even though they have a[n ancient] PC and I’m a Mac user), and we just don’t seem to be able to communicate. It’s so frustrating, and it makes me really cross with myself. Must Do Better!
