How I did it: I waited and waited and waited.... did research on various packages and found one that I really like last week. It's a one year plan, and the lowest speed and cheapest package they offered. But it suits my internet needs the best. And yes, I can make telephone calls now! Woo hoo! Read how I did it…

DIAL UP NEVER AGAINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After 4 long years with dial up I finally got broadband!
I recently got the Accelerator for my dial-up service on my new computer. It’s so much better than the usual 46kps, so I’m usually between 80-500kps, what a huge range! One time I was at a whopping 900kps!!!!!!!!!! Almost like 1MB speed, everything loads faster but not downloads!! UGH! I waited half an hour for a 4min mp3 song! ugh!!!
So I’m looking around for cheap broadband, for like 1MB speed… I guess “slow” broadband but I’m not doing much on internet, I just wanna look at things quickly and start downloading and burning a few songs.
I wanna free up the phone, too, I spend most internet time at night or weekends.
I really hate dial-up connection it sucks like hell!!!! It so damn slow i hate it!!!

We have had broadband internet for a week now and you certainly would not go back to dial up. There is no waiting around for ages for pages to load. Everything runs so smoothly. It is certainly a goal that everyone who uses the internet for any lenght of time should aim to achieve. The other good thing is that we chose the lG plan and this amount seems to suit our needs well 28/07/08.

My new broadband modem connection has just arrived arrived and it was very easy to install. Even though it is relatively slow broadband at 256kpbs it is certainly a lot quicker than the old dial up. Overall a very good purchase (goal completed 24/01/08.

We got our local store to ring telstra (our ISP) and check why it had not arrived. Apparently it has just been sent and should arrive by Wednesday.

Our Modem was meant to arrive today. When the local store checked why telstra (the ISP) had not sent the modem it turned out that they were still checking if we would get coverage through the 3G mobile and wireless network. This was inspite of the fact that we had told them that I can use our mobile at home, which means that we would be covered for wireless broadband. I will have to keep on their backs.
