fieldsofcloverDidn't finish, but I did it.
I gave NaNo another go and was moving at a pretty steady clip for the first two weeks, and then something happened.
(I cheat openly during the years when I do Nanowrimo, and use it as a giant journaling/free writing exercise instead of writing actual fiction.)
Somewhere along the way I realized I was starting to write a lot about things I used to do, and things I wanted to be doing, and that I would rather actually be /doing/ those things. So my Nano time went by the wayside and I started picking up old projects instead.
The process of writing about it did help me sort out what I wanted to be doing with my time at that point, so it was definitely valuable, but I don’t feel bad for not forcing myself to finish the full 50k in lieu of doing other things this time.
It did reinforce the fact that I should return to 750 Words though, so that was interesting. Everything in moderation, even writing! 4 months ago
