yup thats one of the main things im focusing on this year, and I’m really committing to it. I want to contribute something green in this world :)
I actually pay attention and make sure I turn off the lights when Im not using it.
I leave my food out to defrost, so it would take less time time and energy to heat up.
I’ll use the blow dryer less etc etc.
Small things :)

We have been turning off lights much more often. I think we have to do this more. We have been using flourescent for a long time. I may need to get a new thermostat. I’m not sure how to do that. Also we need to have someone look at the wiring in our house. It’s overwhelming right now. But I’m starting with turning out more lights…more than we already do. Right now I’m getting up and turning out more…
-turn off the computer
-unplug unecessary appliances
-use candles
-turn offlights
-open windows
-put up with the dark
-unplug items you dont use all the time [phone/ipod charger, toaster, etc]
-open the windows and use sunlight! it does put a glare on the tv, but its worth it.
-use lightbulbs that dim
- shorter showers (already accomplished!)
- clean lint thingie in dryer every time
- try to do laundry on sunny days so I can line-dry
- put my computer on standby when not using it.
- turn off lights when i’m not using them/ use one lamp bulb.
