sabryn okay...how about a calm December?
I just looked at my first entry, and realized I’ve been doing this for over a month. I’ve got a little system going with the recipes, which is forcing me to keep the fridge stocked with food instead of junk. And I’ve already noticed the difference; I don’t care for junk food much anymore. The other night at my parents’, I went rummaging for a snack; Mom offered me some chips, but I went with a bowl of cottage cheese instead.

I now have 4 bowls of soup and 2 of homemade marinara in my freezer. These should come in handy as we get closer to the holidays—I’ll be doing enough baking without having to make dinner, too.

I bought $60 of real food today; the only packaged food I bought was mac-n-cheese (to go with from-scratch black bean “sausage” patties). No pizza (once I finish this slice, anyway), no chips or snack foods. I’m now set for the next two weeks, unless the recipes I’ve selected are just too gross to eat. I’m even planning a home-cooked meal for my dad’s birthday Saturday.
