A Girl in the Curl is back in school

A tomb 2 years ago

not even a crack of light gets in.
Which is good considering I sleep in the day.

Worth every penny and minute spent on it.

I Am Calling it Good For Now 2 years ago

The kids actually like their orange curtains and the drapes in the living room are fine. The curtains in my bedroom are a low priority and the rest of the house is uncovered. I have so many other priorities above this that I don’t want to think about until much later.

I've Got Drapes! 2 years ago

We bought some drapes for the living room. They are tad yellowish for my taste and don’t quite reach the floor, but they are a huge improvement. I can drop the hardware a bit so they hit the floor, but that is another project.

The kids want to keep their orange curtains, but they are really faded and have mold stains if you look carefully. At the same time, I want them to make their own decorating decisions.

I've determined 2 years ago

that thick, velvet, black-out curtains will be in order if I’m going to learn to survive a night shift and sleep in the day.

(sigh)

Shocked and Appalled 3 years ago

Pinch pleated drapes are outrageously expensive. It doesn’t help that I need the 94” ones.

Hooks and such 3 years ago

I replaced some hooks which had fallen off and the plastic thingies that the hooks hang off for the drapes. Now the drapes aren’t hanging randomly like some abandoned building.

I need to replace the drapes and the curtains in the kid’s room before I call it done.

I was getting it done today 3 years ago

and I got pulled away from the job to help a friend move. The problem is that I put down a small bag of drapery hardware down someplace and now I CAN’T FIND IT.

maddening
