Only going once every couple of months at present. Skates are going to waste at that rate.

Joan is starting the master cleanse!
I think a lot of it had to do with… eh. Not really interested in it right now, and doing a lot of other things, and never got around to buying a pair of rollerblades! I’ll put it back up if I manage to get some blades.
I’ve been rollerblading a lot lately. Every day, I use public transit to get to work and fill the gap between the rail and work w/ my skates. I’ve been skating in the evenings with my roommate as well. I probably rollerblade 12 times a week now :-) Mission accomplished, I’d say. I’m going to add a new goal: Skate a marathon next summer.
I went blading at the park across from our house once this summer. Next time though, I think I won’t risk rolling across the road. It’s pretty much downhill from the driveway to the street and I don’t know how to stop… so it’s risky!
It was fun though… I can go around and around the park and I don’t have to worry about stopping until I’m done!
I got my blades over the weekend, I went out today. It’s been a long time since rollerblades were my main form of transportation. It’s going to take me time to be able to skate like i used to, but I’m excited. Rollerblading was always my favorite way to get around when I was a kid.
I think for all practical purposes, this goal is met- for now! I don’t want to eliminate it b/c I’m sure there will be a time where I get away from it and need to be reminded. These days, if I am not running or at soccer then I am blading around enjoying the weather, scenary, people! I used to see how fast I could do it and that was cool but now it’s a little more laid back but still at a good speed!
Now that its spring and warmer, I rollerblade often enough to consider this done. Mmm I love warm weather and rollerblading.
There’s a great paved trail all the way from Folsom to Sac State as well as some other places. When the weather’s nice, I like to park in the middle off of Sunrise Ave. and rollerblade to school. It’s 13mi each way, so makes for some good exercise. All the rain lately has been a buzzkill though.
You really learn to appreciate a comfortable pair of skates when you’re going twenty miles. I made some mods to the “toungs” of mine to hopefully get rid of some pressure points. I’m looking forward to a nice day so I can try them out.

Since I’m so fickle about these things, there are some cheapy rollerblades on sale at target this week for $20. It might almost worth it for me to just buy them and go once or twice, and if I start to go a lot, maybe I can buy some better second hand, better quality ones.
