impossible task. 3 years ago

IMPOSSIBLE!!! If I learn the words to one song, I forget those of another.

I only have a limited space in my lyric pocket in my brain. and I don’t want to make capacity bigger for fear that it would encroach on other, more important functions, like being able to perceive purple or to modulate my voice naturally.

its always nice to know what theyre really saying :)

Shallow I know but oh well 4 years ago

SO I don’t have to (hmm-mmm-mmmm) thru the parts I don’t know or make them up when I am singing along with the radio in the car or Sirius here lol! I feel like a kid and part of a secret club when I FINALLY know what in sam hill they are saying in that song I have heard a hundred times lol!

This is something I do all the time. Hooray for Google. Radio used to drive me insane not knowing the lyrics.

I’m still looking for the lyrics to Anika Moa’s new single ‘In The Morning’, which I’ve only heard once, but maybe they’ll come out when the album launches.

Update: Haven’t found the lyrics, but at least found a clue as to what it’s about. http://board.muse.mu/archive/index.php/t-10588-p-6.html

All I ever wanted was to be near a face /
In the morning, in the morning /
After the operation my heart will become erased /
And I will miss you, I will miss you

Being a male geek, of course my first thought was science-fiction ‘Eternal Sunshine’ style memory erasure, not abortion.

I got one! 4 years ago

Its very repetitive, I think I could get away with memorizing the first verse and chorus, save some more brain space for the other songs.

[1st Verse]
Lovely Is The Feelin’ Now
Fever, Temperatures Risin’ Now
Power (Ah Power) Is The Force The Vow
That Makes It Happen It Asks No Questions Why (Ooh)
So Get Closer (Closer Now)
To My Body Now Just Love Me
‘Til You Don’t Know How (Ooh)

[Chorus]
Keep On With The Force Don’t Stop
Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough
Keep On With The Force Don’t Stop
Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough
Keep On With The Force Don’t Stop
Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough
Keep On With The Force Don’t Stop
Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough

For years, I thought Michael Jackson was showing his support for the dispute over low pay of postal workers.

“Don’t stop with the postal strike, don’t stop til you get enough”

I can never remember words 4 years ago

but I only remember I don’t remember the words about half way through a song, by which time I am committed to it, and everyone is staring at me. Then I have no choice but to make the words up, but then its like a direct line to my subconscious / id / whateveryacallit, and it gets very surreal and weird from then on, and more people stare at me and maybe a small child points and laughs, and the mother grabs it quickly by the hand and pulls it away saying “don’t stare at the crazy lady”.

I have to stop doing that. It is embarassing.
