play at carnegie hall

I’m a 14-year-old freshman from Centennial High School. Last April, my orchestra had the opportunity to go to Carnegie Hall. It was the single, hardest thing that I have done throughout my lifetime. I am a Cello player, and got to be 5th chair.

Carnegie Hall changed my life in ways that I’ve never thought they could change. Unfortunately, you either have to have connections or be a pro to just get an invitation to play, but if you ever hear that there is a chance to go there, it is hard mentally and physically with being worn out and stressed especially the 2 weeks before the concert, but the outcome that will last you throughout your life. No words in the English Language can describe the things that you feel on stage for the first time. No words at all.

This spring I went to NY with the lawrence children’s choir. They sang at carnegie and I played a toy marimba! Not my instrument (piano) but still pretty cool experience!

My school’s wind symphony just attended a festival held in Carnegie Hall yesterday. The resonance is just amazing. It was hands down the best experience I have ever had while performing in my life. Not to mention, it was such a huge dream of our conductor for such a long time, it was a dream come true for him. It would have been worth it just to see him smiling out of his mind, but the experience was far more than that. It just felt so good, there was such a great vibe.

I still can’t believe it. It’s an incredibly lucky experience to have.

I accompanied a flutist in the recital hall many years ago but it would be great to perform in the Big Hall.
