I missed the train to London, had to change in Ashford, so arrived 10 mintutes late all stressed out and wet from the rain. The listening exercise was about a scenario in a restaurant, and I didn’t bother learning the names for food yet so I was pretty screwed on that :p worst thing is I understood nearly all the tape for the next grade up !! Writing didn’t go very well, reading comprehension was not too bad, except I didn’t know one crucial word (ghaar – cave) and this meant I didn’t understand quite a big part of it.
My teacher said as long as I do ok on the 2 pieces of coursework I can go on to the next level.

Got a good grade in my first written coursework. Also need to record 5 minutes of speaking Farsi which is going to be SO hard.
It’s finally starting to sink in.
(even if M says I talk like an Afghan) :)
Class is going well, and doesn’t seem to be interfering with uni studies or anything like that. My speaking is improving although I’m still not as good as most of the people in the class, but they’ve been learning for three years and I’ve only been learning one and a half. Sometimes difficult to keep up in class but generally it’s not too difficult. Getting out of this little town and into London every week is so refreshing too.
I have started an evening class in London, in a group far beyond my speaking skills. I am hoping this will force me to get better faster, but I am worried about failing it and wasting money. It takes roughly two hours to get into London from here, once a week, so hopefully this commitment will also make me try harder.
The lecturer is cool :D
