Learning to bellydance is one of the best things I’ve ever done! I have all kinds of body image issues and bellydance is amazing for learning to love your body. You get to have fun, move your body and feel sexy and feminine in a welcoming, safe, supportive environment! I recommend it highly!

I love belly dancing class….its my favourite hobby now, but I dont think it makes you lose weight.

I’ve only touched the surface, but I know it will be a lifelong passion for me already. They are not kidding when they say it’s fun and doable for all sizes and ages. The physical benefits are real: I can already feel my arms, thighs, and trunk getting stronger and more flexible. But more importantly, the psychological benefits are affecting me more profoundly. I walk straighter, am more confident about my body, and the next time someone calls me a fat-ass I can say to myself “If they only knew what this ass can do!”

I love bellydance, it’s totally changed my relationship with my body. It’s challenging, but fun. I found in the beginning it helped to concentrate on the teacher, and not spend much time looking in the mirror, worrying if I looked like a dork. After a few months, I started looking very much not like a dork! Great for muscle tone, and as you progress very cardio-intensive as well. Plus it looks wicked cool.

Yes! Do it! It is for all sizes, ages and types. It is fun and adds beauty to the world, even if you never let anyone outside of class watch.
