was somewhat of a moot point for me this year… all i did was purchase a reusable masquerade ball type of mask… (a pretty one) which I wore to dinner with my sis. (actually she made me take it off before she’d let me out of the car)
thass it.
no kids came for candy… :(
what else do you expect though, in the East Village!
i did see lots of ‘big kids’ partying it up in the streets.

Just had to sew/glue/put together the wings, used sweat suits underneath. I’ve been trying to attach a picture, don’t know if it’ll work.
Had only a few trick o’ treaters. Went to a halloween-crazy neighborhood with a bunch of friends, very nice group of people. Didn’t make it to a retirement center for the first time, didn’t know we had to register to do so around here. Next year. I hope to do some visiting with girl scouts more regularly next year.
Edit: am removing pictures of my kids, but can’t seem to do this without uploading a new image, hence the drawing…

JudithKD We aren't giving up on things anymore?
My problem is finding a good home for the candy, except for inside DH and myself!

which frankly, should be applied to as many things as possible.
This time it was really quite easy, as my son was happy enough with the same Harry Potter costume I made for him last year, out of and old black T-shirt (husband’s), a cape and a hat and a Griffyndor badge I painted and sewed on (not very dexterously, I admit, but he was happy enough). So I just had to iron and sew some stitches here and there.
Also, we spent the whole Sunday baking – I mean, I baked the goodies we chose together and he was my taster.

not an issue. My husband is very handy with a needle and thread, and has made their costumes in the past (I limped for a couple of days after trying to wear one of the socks I had darned). But almost as soon as I added this goal, one of my daughters changed from wanting to be a 6-armed alien, to a doodle-bop…
Now, on how to do Dee-dee’s hair without plastic. It’s like the universe likes to see a challenge. I’m thinking I can make something with foam and felt….
Here’s a link to other helpful crafty links.
