at my freshman orientation, it was said that approximately 50% of college kids drink. that’s rather high considerng less than 50% of college kids are 21. i have seen SO many things go wrong when alcohol is in the picture, so i just dont want to get involved with it. my friends know that i dont drink, but im not sure whether they know WHY i dont drink. there are actually many reasons, but i do not want to write them here. i dont understand why people drink anyway… to have a good time? well, my theory is that if youre with good company, you dont need to be tipsy/drunk/wasted to have fun. i never drank before, so i wouldnt know, but just a theory. bottom line is, i do not want to drink at least until i am of age. dont get me wrong, i dont think drinking is bad. i think drinking in moderation when youre at age is good. but, drinking and driving, underage drinking, drinking 6 drinks in one night, etc. is NOT cool. i think peer pressure is stupid. im not gonna discourage anyone to drink, so i expect to not be encouraged to drink.
