Have my sister, my boyfriend and close friend crossed off ‘the list.’ Now just a few others..hmm, what to get them, what to get.

2008’s xmas shopping was done by december 3rd =D
first time in my life i didn’t finish on xmas eve
till January… since I found out my payday from now on is three weeks later than before. I’ve been in shock about this all day. I hope my family forgive me. I’ll still buy a present for my two year old niece.
Well this goal is going to HAVE to get done in the next days whether I want to or not.
Thanks to my mom picking up some presents for me to give some other family members (I’m 25 years old – she did NOT need to go do that, but I’m sure happy she did!! Thanks Mom!), I really only have 2 more people to shop for.
Unfortunately, they are also going to be the most difficult. My mom is notoriously hard to shop for, and the other person is a close family member I haven’t seen or spoken to in 2 years, so I don’t know what to get either of them…
I miss how easy gift buying was when I was little.

I should have enough money by Saturday, and that’s when we go shopping anyway.
So yay for Christmas Shopping!

Overall, I’m not planning on spending more than 70$. Not because I’m greedy, but simply because I’ll only give presents to those who mean a lot to me, instead of wasting my energy on things out of politeness that won’t be appreciated much anyway.

So much has happened that I don’t really care about this goal anymore.

I need to go ahead and get started on this, as I have a problem with procrastination. I plan to buy pretty much everything online, so I can’t wait until the last minute.
I do have a limited budget, but I will be trying to practice conscious consumption as much as possible (meaning: environmentally-friendly, fair labor, etc.). I am looking at some items at The Hunger Site’s store (which donates food to the hungry with every purchase) and at some other good online shops. I want to try to purchase meaningful items and/or things that people can use, instead of just giving them more “stuff.” I am also thinking about baking something to possibly give as gifts.
My mother and I have already talked about simplifying our family’s Christmas and making it less materialistic. We want it to be less about “stuff” and more about family & the spirit of Christmas. So I will be buying less, spending less, and stressing less. :)
