Haven't been jogging... 4 weeks ago

...I’ve been going to the gym, but the jogging-on-the-treadmill thing has just been too painful on the feet. I still don’t have the new shoes I’ve been meaning to get for a month now, but I don’t know if that would make all of the difference. I am still working-out though, and I do still want to do this, it just hasn’t been a focus.

Sped up the treadmill tonight (not enough) and did 3 minutes during my 10 minute warm-up. I’ll probably save the serious run-walk-run-walk-run-walk stuff until I get some new shoes.

Psuedo start 1 month ago

I did make it back to the gym today as expected. Decided I’d start working on this goal while I’m there, although eventually my plan would be to take it outside. Anyway, I simply jogged for two minutes as part of my ten-minute warm-up. I found that the speed I selected on the treadmill was too slow and thus I was actually making some muscles work harder than they normally would if I was jogging at a more comfortable pace. (Go ahead, laugh. It’s true!)

...since I’ve done much jogging/running. Now that my weight loss has kind of plateaued, I should try it again.



Progress 2 months ago

Today I was going to increase my longest interval from 5 to 7-8 mins, but I lasted 9 minutes non-stop :) Did 17 mins in total, 3+5+9.

Today it was time to go from very short to short intervals, lol. So I jogged 3+5+3+5 minutes separated by walking. The second 5 min interval I was able to end with a 30 sec sprint! So I’ll do that 2 more times before I attempt 7 or 8 minutes non-stop.



Feeling pretty good 2 months ago

I went for a long walk today, and I was able to jog for 16 minutes (in total) and my goal was 11!

This goal is taking quite a long time, but I haven’t been jogging as often as I should have either. I started working on this goal again a few weeks ago and today I was able to jog for 10 minutes (not in one go though) which is actually a little bit of progress, lol. It’s little, but I’m on my way! :)

Other forms of exercise I have no problems with. Actually, I thought I was fairly fit until I started jogging. My jogging stamina is ridiculous!
