speculative yes ….but do I feel good about it..anyway I just bought a heap of shares in a BC hydro business…. they will sell green power on the grid.
I grew up in in coal mining community in Australia and here I am living in the Canadian Oil patch, the enigma of green head and black feet conjures images of a hobbitt away from the shire: we can effect change from within.

The trusting mother “earth”, a pearl strung in a bracelet and wrapped around the fat wrist of an eternal reality, with moist loins to bear fruit for the ladened table and able hands to craft a tapestry only to hang in a gallery of uncertainty, she offers us only her soft voice to fill the cathedral of a moment. So give voice to the choir so the SONG may be heard by others…..

As a society we seem to celebrate our fortune, be that health or wealth, with large sit down meals with our friends and family, a very worthwhile thing to do. However in the past this was an acceptable behavior when society lived on the edge not knowing when or where our next family meal was coming from.
Today excessive consumption is seen as normal. This behavior has placed society, and the environment that is required to sustain it in an unhealthy and exhausted state.
People should be encouraged to occasionally celebrate significant events such as birthdays, religious and state holidays with the simple and basic meals such as bread & cheese… or plain rice and vegtables…
To appreciate what most take for granted, or else… And help those less fortunate to enjoy the what most take for granted.
We can all do this one thing.. only take what we need but use all of what we take.. :-)
