I just voted.

I feel very good and very right about having voted. No matter which side wins, at least I put in my two cents worth instead of just sitting back and complaining about the state of the country/economy/government/etc. I was able to give a little boost to some issues that I support, and maybe help squish a couple of propositions that I don’t think are so hot.
Vote! Even if you don’t think it matters! (Because you never know…)

Jennifer is on her way towards making 2009 a great year!
I haven’t ever been this excited for an election. No matter who wins the US presidential election this year, a huge step will be taken to further eliminate bigotry in this country.
It’s an exciting time. :)

I was surprised, and not in a good way, at how hard it was to educate myself about the candidates and the issues, even here at home with all the time in the world and an internet connection. You’d think the media glut would have made itself more useful, but so much of it just focuses on the presidential contest and ignores smaller local races and issues. I’ll bet I spent an hour just being sure I was exercising my civic duty wisely, and still, information on some races and special ballot issues was nowhere to be found. I left three items blank.
Go, democracy, go! Go democrats! Go republicans! Go greens! Go libertarians! Go independents! I celebrate and honor and salute all who are engaged in the process, regardless of the outcome.

Sent in for my new card so I can make the primary. Unfortunately, I’m still town between Obama and Edwards. I think Edwards gets my vote…but it may be down to the wire.

and I don’t really like anyone running for their party nomination. It may come down to who I like slightly more. I had stronger opinions when I was younger. Damn the voting age!

to vote previously so now I can’t use that as an excuse to not vote. A good citizen would go out and put their opinion in. It’s everyones responsibility; I mean we live in this country (those who live in US) and we should care whos leading us and who’ll represent America, home of the braaaaaveeee.
Well, thats my little speech with opera at the end :)

I’m looking forward to the 2008 election. I didn’t vote in the last presidential election (shame on me). In fact, I’ve never voted in any government election. But, that’s all going to change now. (I think I’ll register Republican.) I’m so excited about the 2008 election. There’s no doubt it’s going to be interesting. We’ve got a black person, a woman, and a Mormon all running for president. (On that note, I heard a joke which followed the previous statement with, “Why not just vote for Gladys Knight?”)
I think my interest in politics finally started to grow when I worked at an “opinion center” (good ol’ Western Wats). I had to do several surveys on the 2006 congressional election and it actually interested me to hear other people’s opinions. Then after I had Michael I started to follow current events and politics a bit. Not that having a baby had anything to do with politics, but when you’re waking up for night feedings at 2 am the only thing on TV is Fox News and CNN. So, I’ve been hearing a bit about the candidates.
I don’t know yet who I’m leaning towards. I’m still learning as much about the candidates as I can because I don’t want prejudices to rule my opinion. I want to know for myself what each candidates supports and stands for. All I know is whoever becomes the next president is in trouble no matter what. If the troops in Iraq are pulled out then the next president will get the blame and pressure of the consequences. If the troops stay, the next president will deal with a very angry America.
We’ll see what the future holds.
