cupcakehead is taking good care of herself

    Today... 13 months ago

Every time I remember to do this, I’m rewarded by meeting people! It’s so easy too. I get into my own little world sometimes, especially in places like at the gym, but really it’s so easy to smile and start a conversation.

Today I smiled at a guy, we ended up talking, a woman heard us and joined in, then I was smiling and saying hi to other people too. It’s a great feeling to belong somewhere!

Smiling at everyone... 19 months ago

...is so fun! Today I grinned at one of the valet guys and his face just lit up when he smiled back! I know how good I feel when people crack open a huge smile at me. I love it!

So fun! I just kept smiling at people as I was biking along the path by the beach and everyone smiled back. This feels so good!

I can say I have done this... 2 years ago

...because I see people at sixth form every day, and I work at a local shop… It’s common courtesy to say hello anyway, so I do it automatically, regardless.

It costs nothing.... 2 years ago

I come from the north of england in quite a small village and when i moved to the South of England, I couldn’t beleive how unfriendly the people were. So undetered I just said hello to people and smiling at them, they aswell respond. I even do it on my bad days coz i am so used to putting the mask on. But if i can maybe brighten someone elses day, even for 2 seconds, that is worth it.

This is how I live my life. I guess this is a trait ingrained in me by my family.

No one is a stranger to me.

    I just say hello.

Further, I am from a southern family. My family’s roots are from Georgia, the Carolinas, and Florida. I was just to talk to everyone.

I do not want to make any generalizations but this is pretty true when you meet someone from the South.

Most Southern people are extremely sincere.

so I don’t think this is really a goal. It’s more of just what I do.

Makes me happy too! 2 years ago

Regardless if the person I smile or say hello to responds or seems to appreciate it, it still brightens my day some. I know that when random people smile or say hi to me, I love it, even if I’m taken aback at first! This has become such a habit over the past few years that I smile at pretty much anyone I see. You never know who’s day you will make better with something that simple.

Smiling at Strangers 2 years ago

I can’t help but smile when I see someone whether I know them or now, so I think that I’ll mark this as done since it’s very much a part of me which isn’t even conscious anymore. It’s just the right thing to do and even if at first someone doesn’t smile back, just keep doing it and eventually more and more people will and the world will be a happier and better place.
