I am curious about buddism and how to spell it!
How I did it: You could try visiting Batu Ferringhi, a popular (yet very serene) beach resort for tourists, looking for a quiet getaway - in Penang, Malaysia.

I found one in Lake Charles. They have meditations there that are open to the public.

I have been to uncountable Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines during my years in Japan. Some small and lacking in ambience, yet interesting in their own right. Others, large and awe inspiring, yet somewhat gaudy and commercial in their popularity. I prefer a place where I can sit peacefully with no one else around and meditate in an atmosphere of beauty and tranquility.
i went to one in oklahoma. it was very beautiful but my goal is to go to a bigger, more historical one in asia. but its a start.
I want to visit a Buddhist temple. I recently found Buddhism but am still learning about it. In practicing the teachings of it I have begun to find peace and gained new perspective, and I want to continue to better myself in this way.
beginnerwitch wants to be different from others...
my mom went there in korea and my grandma wants to take me to the temple before she passes away
I did this in India….at the site of the Buddha’s very first sermon….was very meaningful, spiritual, and emotional. :)

I’m not a buddhist nor was I raised as one, however I have studied it in my World Religions & Philosophy classes back in HS. I’ve always been fascinated by it, and just recently I’ve started reading up about it that I really do want to experience the “buddhist” life. Plus, after walking down to China-town looking at fascinating little sculptures has made me appreciate traditional buddhist art. I actually want to find a local Buddhist Temple and appreciate its architecture, along with trying to learn more about buddhist philosophy.

I visited a Buddhist temple/wat a month and a half ago… I wanted to see what it was like. It was just a room full of statues. No weird, spiritual feeling or anything, honestly, I just felt sad that people would bow down to these idols and worship them, give them money, sacrifice to a statue. The only God I’ve ever known to actually DO something in my life, the only one that I can have an actual relationship with, is the ONE TRUE GOD. God almighty. All else is a statue or a man-made god.
It was an interesting experience, all-in-all.
